Change those to 'reckons' and 'apparently' and it doesn't change the article at all.

I do worry that we were making all these signing, then Wilson signs a new Bournemouth contract and all of a sudden Bayliss rumours appear and we sell Chaplin. Were we counting on the windfall to bridge losses and as it hasn't come we have to look at alternative income.

In a previous article in the CET about the Chaplin sale he says "it gives us the opportunity to do something else", so saying the Chaplin cash may be reinvested may not be necessary doesn't mean no chance.

I think he's saying the opposite. The reason Robins is saying it won't is so prices of players we're trying to buy don't shoot up. Or it could be that it really won't be used this year. We have spent money already to be fair.
