Next Seasons Confirmed Squad/Transfer Rumours (3 Viewers)

It's all opinions CRJ and I see your points. I just find it unfortunate at best that some are writing off JJ at this point - it's premature. And as for a poster stating 'he's shit'.....you will probably agree that is absolutely unjustified and unfair on a player who has real talent and is doing everything he can to return to the fold.

He certainly wasn't shit. I think he has (or in my opinion, had) raw talent that could've been developed under Robins.

Is it premature? It's well noted that athletes sometimes cannot perform to the same level as they did prior to the injury. Say this wasn't the case though, his development would've almost certainly been hindered massively so as a result I'm not sure how much of an asset he would be next season when he has previously struggled at this level and subsequently hasn't been able to develop as a player for nearly two years.

Aaron Chapman has been transfer listed by Peterborough, a keeper who was very good for title winning Accrington gaining promotion to L1

Boaz Myhill, Mark Bunn, Tomasz Kuszcak all out of contract. The type of keeper I'd like us to be in for. Plenty of experience but wanting first team football.
Agreed, but wages....

Frank Fielding just got released by Bristol City. Played 43 times in the Championship in 17/18. Injured and replaced last season but still only 31.

Would be a good, experienced option.
You may well be right but the same comment could have been said of Ogogo, Brown and Meyler and a few others from previous seasons.
Such players are a gamble

You do realise there's a pretty good chance that Jodi won't ever be the same player that he was? Granted he had talent but we only saw a brief glimpse of that potential and talent within a short period of time. Not to mention that was also at a lower level of football so what guarantees are there that a fully fit Jodi Jones would've been an asset next season, or (taking his injuries out of the equation) even this past season. Don't forget he struggled to make an impact at League One level the season before last. So, after two years out of the game I find it presumptuous to suggest he'd be a real asset during the 2019/20 season when most experts would have no idea how he'd perform.

Regardless, after back to back ACL tears I can now see him being more of a dead weight than an asset as I personally doubt he'll recover from this. Even after one ACL tear there is a risk of improper healing if the graft isn't accepted by the body, continued pain and loss of motion in the knee. Plus you can't rule out the damaging psychological effects of suffering such an injury twice in two years.

I have to agree, I would love him to come back an asset, but even pre injury there was no guarantee he would be one. He struggled first time round at L1 level, so there’s a lot of hype for a player based on one good season in L2.

He had attributes to make it, namely pace and direct running, but they are two things most likely to be impacted by his injuries. The psychological side also shouldn’t be underestimated.

Despite the above, he’s still young and does have potential, but he’s got to get over his injury and step up to a league he hasn’t yet mastered. I really hope he does, but we shouldn’t expect too much, especially not too soon. It also means he shouldn’t be a factor in whether we require another winger or not.

Big keeper, 18 clean sheets in his L2 season. Did the business and was the pick of the keepers from that season for me.

David Stockdale looks to be on Peterborough’s radar according to fan gossip

If we’re after a left sided attacking midfielder what does that mean for Jordi?

It doesn’t mean a lot because he won’t be fit until the autumn anyway. We have to plan our squad as if he isn’t coming back. If JJ can work his way to fitness and make some good appearances (as he was doing) then he’ll make his way back in the team.

Why do Peterborough want to get rid of Chapman?

No idea, only conclusions i can come to is Darren Ferguson don’t see him as part of his plans or he’s only a year left on his deal so as is the business model all players with 12 months left are transfer listed.

I hope you are not suggesting we plan our squad around JJ. As much as I'd love him to come back as he was pre original injury, it's one hell of a hope (rather than expectation). His style of play doesn't encourage me either (i.e. twists a lot and will get kicked, combined with The Ricoh divots) What could possibly go wrong.

Let me clarify, we should plan our transfers as if he isn’t going to take part next season.

I’ll go back and edit the original as its ambiguous wording on my part. My bad. ‘Plan around’ was intended to mean planning around his injury as opposed to building a team around him. I can see how that was misinterpreted easily!

I like JJ, and think he could make a big impact if his recovery goes well. But for me, we need to build the team as if he isn’t coming back.

Bury still seem in a bit of a mess despite their promotion. I suspect we may test the water for Eoghan O'Connell again.

Is this saviour of ours the same Jodi Jones that came back from his last injury clearly afraid to get tackled, nervous whenever an opponent bared his teeth, and had to be substituted once because, as Mark Robins said at the time, was scared he'd hurt himself?

Got another year. Going purely off social media posts he seems in good spirits and is out on the grass getting some running in.

Need to be very careful not to take any risks with him.

He put a snapchat up the other day with screenshots of Cov fans slagging him off and saying he's finished/shit seems it affected him, I wouldn't say he is in good spirits

This is exactly what I was saying above and these things make me ashamed to be a fan of this great club. Jones is a fantastic player and deserves our full support as he aims to get back to full fitness. Don't listen to the idiots JJ - 100% want to see you back, firing on all cylinders and tearing up this league.

Where is the money coming from to sign all of these players we haven't even sold a season ticket yet.

What about allassani ? Anyone think he could come back into the fold or will robins release him ? For me i think he will leave.

He’s not finished, far from it, at least I sincerely hope not.
As much as having two serious injuries on the same knee is doubtless going to affect him, psychologically more than anything (and being out for so long) he can come back from it.

Women’s FA cup final the other day was a girl playing who has recovered from 3 x ACL injuries.
