You all know what I am about to say don't you? Well you are wrong :)

Bit of a long story, but here we go.

In the late 70's...think it was early 78......just before I was 10, I went to a game at HR. It was against Liverpool. I was surrounded by Liverpool fans in a Cov end. Felt a bit strange when the game kicked off. The commentator must have forgotten to turn his mic on :thinking about: Was used to seeing the Liverpool players winning in Europe. We won 1-0. I was hooked.

As I got a bit older I went to a few more games. When I was 14 I started seeing a bird who lived opposite HR. This was good for the games. Then a couple of years later I noticed the violence. I was 16 and a bit of an idiot. Was going to away games by now. Some of them were a bit dodgy. You had to fight your way to the ground, half watching all around you for flying objects coming at you and then fight your way out again. At least it seemed like fun. And all done in the honour of your City :( I did over 5 seasons only missing 3 games. This included 87....and we all knew what happened then. My favourite away day ever was the QF. Then kids and shiftwork got in the way. But I have always tried to get to as many games as I can.

Then we started spending money we didn't have, but had some good players. Expected better things but was usually still in the usual relegation battles. If they had painted the Titanic sky blue it would never have sunk.......then we got relegated.

Then SISU come to save us. I felt so happy........and here we are. Division 3 to us older fans. Admin nearly every year. Playing 34 miles from our City. It is so sad. This season was going to be the one where my 3 year old started going to games. I would only do this at home games. We don't have home games now.

This has caused division with our fans I never thought would happen. We have always been a happy bunch. Looked after each other on our travels. Kept singing when getting hammered. Now we can't even agree on what is the best thing to do. Scabs go in Shitfields to watch us. Mongs stand on the hill. People that don't do either don't give a shite. Wow.........never known us to be anything like this. Our club has been divided from the City where it should play. Now the fans have been divided.

The best thing we can do is kiss and make up. We would be much stronger if we were as one. Can't see it happening though. There is too much ill feeling at the moment. All we seem to do now is insult each other and try point scoring. Someone starts it all off with lies. Next person thinks it is the truth and states it as a fact. Then people believe it as it is a fact although there is no evidence. Then the insults start. My apologies are for anyone I have insulted. My frustrations have been coming out lately. This place here is my main link to our club. I hold no grudges to anyone that have said anything to me. We are all in a bad place now.

So now it is NOPM. Not One Post More. Will be loitering on here, but have had enough. I will still see what is going on. Was desperate to make a few comments earlier....bit like a drug to me. I have noticed some posters I have met up with don't post on here anymore. I don't think I am the only one feeling like this. I am not going to any more games now until they have gone. Will use the weekends and money on my family.

So remember NOPM NOPM

It's only football. You can post here if you want to; if you change your mind. Ignore all the binary people who respond - it's only football, not life.

Respect your choice but your voice will be missed from the debate. Reading your post I probably went away with you in the 80s. The sad thing is my kids who are 5th generation city season ticket holders will probably never go to a match again with their grandad, they want to follow the Blaze. How many generations will this great club loose to other sports, we all care in our different ways but the respect for each other is being lost as Sisu, ACL and the league franchise our club away and divide us from our heritage.

Understand your emotions Astute. We all feel an array of emotions ranging from anger towards others to utter helplessness. As Shanks said "its football, not a matter of life or death, its more important than that" (or something like that)

Hold in there, stick around the forum, we will be re-united before Christmas. I feel it in the water I have in my tipple.

The only thing that Coventry City fans have in common is the fact they are Coventry City fans, the only thing that unites us is the desire for success and the love of our club. (apart from the few who seem to thrive on the misery?)

As humans and football fans of the same club we thrive on polite argument and being able to constructively disagree with each other, life would be rather dull without it. However, some people are twats, you will never change that, whether that be face to face or on a forum.

Well said astute, been sitting on the fence for a while here reading the posts agreeing with NOPM, but I have three lads aged 7 , 5 , n3 , I have promised my eldest to take him to his first game ever as he loves his cov shirt, he gets a bit of stick at school for this but stands his ground . I cant afford to travel to far so I'm going to sixfields, if anyone gets in my face and tells me I'm wrong to go in I will say exactly what astute just said, we must stand as one PUSB

It's not that easy,so many different fractions.

I also have three children two of whom had season tickets at the Ricoh, we have decided not to travel to Northampton but love our club just the same. The sad thing is, if we all 'stand as one' we wouldn't even fit in the ground, so what does that mean?

The Trust have been advised by quite a few people on many occasions to try to unite the fans. But no, you lot knew best and followed a path that could only lead to disunity. I still remember your post when you were on the way to Crawley; 'real fans don't go to Sixfields'.

You lot got it wrong.

I have a 22 year old son and we are not going. Despite the angst this causes. I'm sure there are other fans out there who choose not to go. Northampton Second team. The club is dying. You may well be witnessing the last season in the football league. And all because SISU alienated the fans by playing their home matches in Northampton.

SISU are missing out on the next generation of fans. Nuneaton Borough are giving junior football team players free season tickets. What does SISU do? Move the club out of the area, encouraging the kids to support teams in Manchester, Liverpool or London. Let's face it, they are not going to support a team in Northamton are they?

Well said astute ,it was all said as I feel now.supporter since 1963, been through it all the aggro, home and away. Met some really good people, friends for life. Kids season ticket holders since 4 years old. But no more.highlight 1987 , lowlight not supporting the team in Shitfields Northampton . We will be back in Cov one day , but away games only to keep my friendships going. PUSB win or lse

You are welcome to Sixfields. Some fans prefer to see their home team in Coventry.

I posted on way to Crawley?

The issue we have is as per your message, we are advised by many on what is right, but in the end we can only go on what we collectively feel is right.
Personally my views are changing but have learnt at my own peril that I am not allowed to have a personal point of view.

Michael from the Trust says join us on the hill on Sunday, it's nothing to do with protest, just watching the game for free...that sums the schizophrenic Trust up for me. NOPM, KCIC, boycott, etc etc. Now it's go and see the team for free.

That might not be just a fun comment, when they remove the stand in November, maybe they could actually put seats on the hill to Make is big stand?

Yes that rather unfortunate remark was the biggest own goal since since Dave jones' 25 yarder vs stoke in 1978 79.

Michael is in the Trust but most of what he is doing is off his own back.

I have watched games from the hill, but I am there as an individual as I believe its morally wrong to be playing outside of Coventry. Will not knock these who go into the stadium and do not expect abuse from anyone for watching the game for nothing.

Michael I thought was the treasurer? Also as he is fairly articulate he is put forward to the media as a trust spokesman a lot. To try and dismiss him is very poor form - its not him that said real fans don't go to Sixfields is it?
