Given the fixtures lampards start has been even worse than expected.

The next 4 matches are bristol, blackburn, watford and swansea.

Not world beaters but not shit either, lampard really needs to come up with some results to show some evidence of progress, if we come out of those 1-3 points it's hard to argue a case for Lampard to continue.
I think it’s generally accepted (not by everyone) that our squad and best 11 are not good enough in terms of quality and steel. 2Lampard has signed none of these underperforming players, and although it is his job to improve players, it’s a bit rich to put all the blame at his door.

Apologies. Not read the rest of the thread. My thoughts. Expected little, but players put in a proper shift. Asante should have scored. Game over. Worldy equaliser - fair enough. However, that blatant push for their 'winner' was an inexcusable decision by the referee. Not even close to debatable. That cost us a point,; not anything that followed. Robbed, and can't blame the team / manager today. On coach, annoyed - but nor with the team.
Lati was guilty of trying to buy the foul rather than actually dealing with it defensively. It’s lazy defending and he had a mistake in him all afternoon from literally the first minute.

Dovin, Kitching and Thomas looked assured and it’s clear that the Lati for all his perceived strengths as a player just isn’t a good defender.

Goals are always a collective failure and the midfielders should’ve been on any shooters but the catalyst for that goal was relying on the ref (who gave us nothing) to give that foul is just naive.

At 1-1 I was ok with that because it was a great goal and we’d rode our luck before BTA’s chance so all things considered, a draw was a good result. No, we had time to ruin the day for the SBA.

People who moan about BTA would rather have someone who's half arsed but scores the odd goal that someone who shows energy and desire. It's so weird
I would rather have someone ruthless enough to smash it into the goal rather than aimlessly tap it wide. Pathetic finish.

Take your Sky Blue tinted goggles off and watch the replay ffs, he looks back and slows down. He’s looking for that foul. That ball should have been in Row Z.
Yep. Weak as piss defender who constantly gets caught out. I suspected he had compromising videos of Robins, what I didn't realise was those compromising videos also involved Lampard.

And while all that is true, it is still a foul. You cannot push a defender in the back.

Bassette did it all game and the ref gave fouls every time..

Lati was looking for a foul but it absolutely was one I thought he had an OK game other than that. I can see why Bassette is playing in front of Simms even though he didn't add much today. Eccles a rare off game too just can't seem to pull it together when we need to. Referee to be fair wasn't giving many fouls for pushing all game.

Then we’re all banking on a ref who’s been wobbly for 94 minutes prior to show a little consistency.

Nothing to worry about if Latibeaudiere does the right thing.

Absolutely but it's still a foul. Ideally he'd have smashed it into row Z but he did what most defenders would do and win a foul.

I would put my life savings on that being a foul had it been Simms, Asante or Bassette.

Bizarre you wouldn't just leather it out at that point and see out the game. I honestly can't describe how much i never want that man to play for us again.

I’ve not seen the replay but felt he was looking for the free kick too much rather than just dealing with it. It just sums Lati up as a defender I’m afraid.

Compare that to how Kitch and Thomas defended today, it’s night and day. With what we’ve got, the defence from now on has to be MVE-Thomas-Kitch and Bidwell. It’s not perfect but those two defend well and as a pair. In fact, Kitch and Bidwell look like a solid partnership down that left flank.

If there’s someone willing to pay a good sum for Lati, you’d have to be an idiot to not let him go.

I have nothing to add to what's already been said about the performance and the match (apart from: I never ever want to see BTA playing for this club again ), but just as a quick point: The atmosphere in the away end was fucking awful at even at 1-0, this is a demoralised and unconfident fanbase.

Utter, utter frustration. Terrible way to lose. On the bright side Dovin and Kitching looked good.
On a serious note, if we just stuck with Dovin, MVE, Thomas, Kitching and Bidwell, we probably in the top half because they don’t make as many mistakes.

They’re not as neat and tidy on the ball but that’s not a priority when you’re conceding 2 goals a game.

Imagine we just used that back 5 all season. Seems so obvious but neither manager seems/seemed to want to do it. Must be something in the water in the training ground that's making them do weird shit.
