Is it?
Must have missed us have a great game
We didn’t have a great game, who said we did?

We are mixing it in one of the most competitive leagues in the world and it’s not (yet) going to plan. Getting to the playoff final (with everything going our way near the end of the season) has gone to people’s heads. Now we expect to be top six and beating teams every week. Yes we’ve spent a lot of money, but we’ve had to replace loanees and rebuild the squad. The net spend is negative so far isn’t it?

I know it’s a cliché, but it’s fine margins between where we are now and the playoff places. Simms had two great efforts tonight and if either had gone in I’m convinced we’d have won and we’d be 12th.

I’m not happy with the season so far, but people are throwing themselves off cliffs about it LOL.

Fuck me. You're one of them that thinks we should be grateful to even be in the championship because we went down to L2 arent you? Pathetic

Are the players just crap or is Robins stubbornly wedded to a system that really doesn't suit them? I don't really now tbh, but neglecting the most important part of pitch didn't help either. Not particularly happy with anyone involved in it all atm.

Unfortunately, with Robin’s, the formation won’t change & we will bring the injured players back in & just watch the ‘ Chelsea bias ‘ , especially with the Palmer scenario , as he’s a typical 45 minutes a game man at his very best

So from last night, one team wanted it one team didn't. I leave you all to decide which way. Second half DaSilva and MVE hardly ever seemed to beat a player near the box, they turned back and passed it back. We seem to want to do an Arsenal and pass it into the net, we don't have the players or urgency to get up the field quick and wait for 7 or 8 players to be behind the ball. You could see with all their players putting their bodies in for any cross or shot that we wouldn't score. As for the second goal it was so comical watching their players take the mickey down in the corner, we couldn't get near them, then a quick whipped ball to the back post where no-one was defending and bingo. I thought after a poor first half that we were going to do a Bristol in reverse and have a storming second half, oh how deluded I was. I hate drive homes after losing, but driving home after seeing them hardly even try was beyond me

The rigidity of the system, and its current ineffectiveness is getting us caught out consistently. The opposition, for the most part, are utilising the inflexibility of MR (especially as he’s trying to hammer this system into the players so it clicks) and switching it tactically when we’re either on top, or gaining momentum.

The fragility of the morale is a real concern, personally.

Could be a long, long season, this.

The lack of effort from those two up top was scary. Shown up by O'Hare who actually gave a bit of fight.
Sakamoto too. Those two contributed more in that half an hour than the rest did all game.

The big issue is that we’ve decided to try and swap to a system that doesn’t suit any of the players in our team. Why the manager has thought that was the way to go only he knows but it’s not working and not only are the results bad but the football is terrible to watch at as well.

It’s been shite to watch from the second game onwards. Proper yawnfest. That’s what is pissing me off the most. To the point where people started touching themselves when it was found out MVE had a long throw.

Robins needs the heat turned up on him.

We are currently a shambles. Enough of this takes time to gel crap. The players we’ve signed are shit. We’re trying to gel multiple turds into a one big turd.

Im as frustrated as anyone but it does take time to gel. It’s not 2-3 dropping into an established squad. It’s half a new squad/half a new first team, new backline and now missing two premier league quality players. Add to that injuries and general lack of confidence. you can see heads drop as soon as first goal goes against (we were better team against Bristol and Rotherham before first goals). To say players we have signed are shit after 12 games is crazy. Give them a chance, some will work, some won’t but writing them all off already ?!!!

I do agree with Nicks initial post about urgency though. Need to play at a higher tempo with higher intensity. That’s on the manager. If players are delivering that, get them off. I also think his constant changing of backline is causing uncertainty/lack of consistency.

I actually saw promising signs from Simms last night, first half missed chance aside. Glad he was left on the pitch as he got more lively as game went on so not sure what some posters were watching. Ohare, assuming he remains fit, will make a big difference and as someone said last night, it might be worth trying the box to get better control of games/make us more solid if he’s back in

Yes they’ve done absolutely brilliantly and opened up a 9-point gap to the team in third, which is impressive. 22 teams are below them, and every one of them has a big squad full of highly paid professional footballers.

Not sure what the point is.

The football is dull. It’s ok when we are winning but when we are not it’s not a great spectacle

Does make me laugh calling for a new manager now to replace Robins.

General consensus seems to be that the players we have are shit and crap and not good enough, but we want to bring in a different manager to work with these crappy, shitty, not good enough players.

😂

We have wasted 20M for sure - who remembers the days a few years back when we dreamed of a tv match getting 100K - we have bought duds - Saka looks able but the rest are L1 standard

how much did hamer, gyokores and sheaf cost?

We got lucky with them 3 plus McNally and Doyle.

It's not rocket science, if you keep having to change the squad every season then your going to get inconsistents. 🤔

I forgot we were the only team that has to change our squad. How long did it take Middlesbrough to 'gel'?

We had 14 players leave and replace them with 11. How many players did Middlesbrough have to replace.

Most of their first team. We had to replace Waghorn, Walker and Hilsner

If o hare and Allen were fit we’d have started the Wednesday game with probably 7 players who were here last season

I wonder if any disruption has been caused in the existing squad by bringing in new players on big contracts who don’t seem to be up to scratch.

The way the season is going, this particular thread is going to run and run. We are far too slow when we attack .Teams can just park on the edge of their box and we resort to the passing across the field game.

Remember when we used to terrify teams on the counter attack?

So glad Robins has decided we don't do that anymore and instead pass it around the edge of the box 500 times waiting for the opposition to allow us to score.

Can anyone honestly say mve offers anymore than dabo?

Or do we just not have the midfield to unlock his speed?

Just seemed to spend the game turning back inside and passing to saka or a CB and not taking on his man
