I still firmly believe with the midfield options that no-one could have done better. I’m hoping this is calculated and someone good has been lined up.

The timing is a bit strange, almost feels like the relationship between DK and MR completely fractured beyond repair after last night.

Perhaps he should've been given more time, but unfortunately I'm not sure this team's fortunes could be salvaged by MR. He's probably taken us as far as we can. The performances were awful and the results are looking far too difficult to come by.

Will always be grateful for everything he's done for the club.
Agreed, he hit a big brick wall, and there was no consistency

He should have had until Christmas but ultimately Doug doesn't want to wait until we are sat in the bottom 3.

Forget the two wins this week against 10 men. The team and club has been heading into a relegation battle. We've been very poor, FA Cup aside since Feb/March time.

It's truly heartbreaking because this man saved our club. He owes us nothing. We need to give him a send off.

I said on this forum 4 weeks ago, the decision to sack Robins will divide this fan base and club more than any other decision besides the move to Northampton. Unless we pick up a win Saturday, it will be extremely toxic.

Til January. And because he has been brilliant for us and has turned it round before

Would've been a terrible and short sighted decision to leave it until then if performances and results had stayed the same. Making the decision now at least gives a club a chance to bring in players that will suit the new 'Head Coach's' style of play and system once he's appointed.

My obsession, what about your obsession crying and bitching about how bad robins is after all he’s done for us?

Never a bad word to say about king and how he's fucked everything up though you melt

I've said plenty about King, that's the funny thing.

"melt". Get back to football factory.

He was openly critical of the players last night. I do wonder if he had lost the dressing room. In which case that would be on the players imo.

I’m sad, but it was time - the club clearly has ambitions beyond those that Robins himself can deliver, and if he wasn’t willing/able to get on board with a modernised/post-L2 coaching system, then he would have to be smashing it on the pitch to stay in the job. He isn’t.

He deserves a better farewell than this (the statement is a shoddy and typo-strewn mess) but that’s the business - it’s on King’s head now.

Well obviously we will improve if a better manager comes in, that’s not really a groundbreaking statement

Yeah fair enough but I mean I don’t think losing Robins is the worst thing ever, I think something hasn’t been right for a while and losing at home to Derby just topped it off. I really like Robins but since March time we’ve been lacking in nearly every department. I just think we will be a better team provided the manager is someone who can manage properly 😬

Stupid decision and stupid timing.

About to go into a horror run of games, there's an international break in 2 weeks - do it then if you must.

Last night was disappointing but was unlucky. We've just beaten Middlesbrough away and performed well against Luton.

I can't understand it at all.

Genuinely a bit shocked as thought he deserved more time. There have been games, (Sheffield Wed and a few others I cannot think now) where I thought he has had his day, but I know it's just being emotional in the moment. The next appointment has a very difficult job in winning over many fans now and please don't let it be Frank Lampard (*unless he get's us promoted, then I always knew he was a great coach and deserved the chance). Hope all the Robins outers are happy.
They are probably knocking one out in bogs.

honestly feels like a family member has died. The stability Robins brought our club has now vanished.

We are Coventry City. We will never be a top 15 Premier League Club. Robins brought us the happiest times of my life watching Coventry.

2 Promotions. 1 FA Cup Semi Final and some outstanding football

We are all a victim of our own fickle expectations. Absolutely disgraceful decision.

I also hope our players are happy this morning. Their shambolic performances have brought this on.
I’m glad you said that first line because I felt the same, it just seemed dramatic to me to make the comparison.

To hear that we haven’t got someone lined up because ‘we’re taking our time’ making a decision is genuinely infuriating.

My ‘bet’ is that we’ll get an absolute blagger in as the person to take over Robins and it won’t last long.
