Just really sad.

Hope that the new man will be a success and we push on to the next level.

Worry that this is the first move of a regular turnover of “underperforming” Managers, sorry - Head Coaches.
... or woman! Maybe the cockney pikey Emma Hayes will see the error of her ways in wanting to coach the World Champions and come back to manage us under Marie-Claire (isn't that a magazine?). Any other notable female managers?

I think I’m coming around to the idea MR has been pissed off with King for ages. Maybe the negative rumours from saddle were all true.

Can't be

I make things up for clout or from my 'mate' remember

More and more of what I've said its gleaning true now, but there will always be a part of the DK cult who won't want to hear it

Saddam Hussain would have been lauded by some of the fanbase if it meant SISU weren't here anymore

And yet people are now saying MR had a better working relationship with Joy than King. Must have been that coffee she bought him at Coombe Abbey. If she'd put her hand in her purse she may not have been the devil incarnate after all.
At least she didn't try to tell him how to do his job!

I've spoke to a few blokes that met Joy. All were massively critical of her until they spent an hour in her office, then they couldn't praise her enough.

God knows what she did to them

Let’s face it, any can manipulate statistics to suit their own agenda.

Since April he’s been terrible, since January not so bad etc.

Facts are that he’s been our most successful manager since John Sillett and, like him, he’s been dismissed when things aren’t that bad and with loads of credit in the bank.

I hope we’re not going to have the same post- JS shitshow, but I do fear the worst.

It’s obvious that he had a relatively good working relationship with her and Fisher.

I’m assuming that this will also be the end of the existing coaching staff as the new manager is likely to want to bring his own people in.

I’m sorry to see MR go but a change in the backroom staff could turn out to be a good thing.
No it will have to be someone who agrees to work with Dougs team.

Heard anything internally saddle about today or any thing on who the club want in? Someone was going on about someone becoming available which turned heads?

No one was happier than when King took over from SISU and lets face it no one would want them back.
Since the takeover however, I have slowly been starting to become disillusioned with the King regime. The shock of Adi leaving without a hint of explanation and no glowing words about our most successful Assistant Manager ever. The wall of silence about everything whilst claiming transparency.
It has been evident that MR has been eased out of a great deal of his previous responsibilities. Every now and then, things have slipped out. MR has said he no longer has the final say in transfers or any involvement in loans. The one that was a real classic was he could not discuss an injury due to data protection.
MR has been our most successful Manager since Jimmy Hill and there are no more on that list in modern times. Anyone trying to belittle his achievements know very little about football. We are averaging over 25k at home and selling record numbers of shirts because of the last management group, and their continuous success, nothing to do with King. IMHO, MR is a Manager and Adi was the main coach. It is well documented that they made Vik, Callum, Ben Josh and Gus the players they are today
I said at the start of the season if it a'int broke don't fix it. That is exactly what King has done. We needed evolution and we've got revolution. Unfortunately, history tells you that most revolutions usually end up with a worse outcome.
We have been here before creating a tsunami of success then through stupid Owner decisions falling back to mediocrity. Refusing to give Jimmy Hill the contract he wanted and allowing George Curtis to move upstairs brought our brilliant futures to a halt.
King has one chance at redemption bringing in a Head Coach that is better than what has gone. Don't think the favourite Frank Lampard is the answer.

Go on then Saddles, any new snippets of info for us?

We already know he’s been sacked by the way. I mainly want the Sunderland team sheet so I can decide to buy tickets or not 😂

We were incredibly lucky in the league 2 season to get promoted

We turned it on at the end but it was mostly poor.

I still have nightmares most weeks about Robins continuing to play Peter Vincenti on the wing.

It's extraordinarily strange for fans to overlap form accross seasons , especially one where we were having to bring tavares off the bench at Southampton away because players were fucked
It's insane.

Cherry picking at what point they want the stats shown from. People are now also talking about our form over a calendar year! Why? The norm is from over a season.

And like you say, some people are skipping over it, but the squad was too small (everyone agreed on that) and at the end of the season the players were shattered and the results were pretty meaningless..

I even remember lots of people calling for us to play the kids, as there was nothing left to play for.

There's far too much selective memory going around.

It's back to the days I remember when McSheffrey was top goal scorer and I said it was a great achievement and some were saying, but a few of them were penalties, so that doesn't count. 🤦

It's nuts.

Nothing other than Dougs had this in mind since the second Adi went in my view

I sound like a stuck record, but this is Dougs toy. No one else is allowed to tell him how he should play with it. There were some grubby fingerprints on it (Robins and Viveash) from the last people who owned the toy and he cant have that because he wants his new toy to be all shiny and only his, and if anyone offers advice or help on his toy or goes against how he should play with his toy then they are told to get fucked

He won't like the ego bashing he's getting at the moment put it that way. Couldn't wait to get himself on Talksport when it was going well. Hiding away like a little bitch now he's being asked by media outlets for comment now he's made this decision

Fair for sharing your opinion. Definitely not a popular man. Hopefully we’ll know something soon. Any truth in simms injury not being all that it seems?

I can fully buy in to the King is the problem idea. The biggest accolade he has is that he’s not SUSU and has done some planting at Ryton. It’s easy to tart up a training ground when you receive £35 in transfer fees. He’s laid out nothing and made a string of piss poor decisions. The most serious of which is todays.

Well most supporters are very unhappy with the news today , I understand some fans aren't and they're massive edgelords .. but most of us appreciate what mark robins has given us and think he should have been given more time and are disappointed with the clubs ownership .

For many it's a travesty

Travesty n:
a false, absurd, or distorted representation of something.. which sounds like some of the things you're coming out with tbh.

It's possible to be unhappy that this has happened and understand why it has. It's possible to appreciate what he gave us and accept that a decision has been made based on evidence that's hard to ignore.

Not everyone has a flounce over things they can't control because they're feeling sad. Lashing out at a bunch of people who are going through the same thing and probably feel a lot of what you are is a bit sh*t.

Anyway, FFS. People are getting blown to f*cking pieces in their sleep every day or washed away in floods. F*cking entitlement and lack of perspective from some is grim.

Also only just had a chance to read the full statement, just reading ‘Head Coach’ pissed me off massively.

We’re being taken by non-footballing people down a road of ‘modern football’ via a text book.
This head coach, for me, can only be being pushed by Dr Claire. Doug, with zero footballing experience wouldn’t have come up with this, and she appears to be the only person at the club with Premier League experience.

Nothing to do with the COO then who also has PL experience.

still getting my head around this.
whatever my views are on our performances this season (and the tail end of last season), robins leaves us with some great memories, and helped steer us through some of the darkest days in our history. and i'll always be grateful for that.

your move, doug. it better be a good one.
