You can make up all the excuses up you want. The highest share of the vote since Blair in 2005 is of course portrayed as a negative. Brexit is not going well, we have less than a year to go and the Tories don't know what they're doing with it. They didn't know what to do when the Leave vote won and they still don't know what they're doing now. The policies have popular support until people are told they are Labour policies-such is the effectiveness of a right wing media in convincing the general public to vote against their own self interest. Jerry's a Trot, Jerry wants the IRA to kidnap your children, Jerry hates Britain, etc etc. When he got a national platform for a month people saw a different side, and they will again when the next election comes.
The Tories will pledge to continue underfunding schools, to not pay public workers properly and to let big businesses off the hook. Is that really the winning formula?
The result was nowhere near good enough. Ànd if it is kept up the Tories will be back in yet again. And people like yourself will be happy again as long as the Tories are a seat away from getting a full majority.
The difference is that I am not happy with Labour losing election after election.
But when you consider who the leaders have been there is no surprise.
