£50 million in one season not enough of a reward for getting relegated
Surely that article has to have been initiated by his agent?
It quotes Coventry Live which is the CTSurely that article has to have been initiated by his agent?
Any player will be sold at any club if the price is right
Brucey bonus
The owner put in £65m but only while in prem. He now wants a repayment
Err no don't think so mate
We're the only club in the land that has to sell players apparently. Thank god we've got Dave Boddy to sell them for peanuts, otherwise we'd be screwed, I'm sure Burnley would never have heard of O'Hare if it wasn't for Boddy hawking him around.
Yes it’s £15mBut not immediately as was suggested
Surely that article has to have been initiated by his agent?
Maybe, but it's a bit silly if you're an agent to undersell your client's talent as you're supposed to be trying to get the best package for them
I left a comment something on this line… they deleted itOur player, our price. Don’t like it? Fuck right off then
It's more likely to be Burnley's agentSurely that article has to have been initiated by his agent?
This is your area of expertise I think you’ve said, what things could the club be doing they’re currently not?
I gather that Burnley doesn’t interest him. He seems happy here. So it’s allowed us to do thisIt's more likely to be Burnley's agent
COH has been great throughout but with the personal terms on offer very few players could resist
It's unlikely that Callum or his agent will be making waves
They could have done after hearing of Fulham's offer but kept quiet
But our club are playing hardball which is great
It shows the risky tactic of giving our most valuable players long contracts last season is paying off
The owner put in £65m but only while in prem. He now wants a repayment
Eh, he was on his way there two days ago now we’re playing hardball? Something doesn’t add up
Think we have always been playing hardball, it's just the made up scenarios that Boddy was pimping him out got believed and people got worked up by it.
The poster who’s information I’m referring to and is taken as gospel said he was on his way there two days ago, it’s been quite a backtrack
He’s welcome to herHas he slept with your missus?
The impression it gives of Burnley being "entitled" to recruit O'Hare for whatever they "deem" appropriate stinks!Callum O'Hare latest: Coventry City's crazy price tag revealed as Burnley rumours rumble on
Coventry City playmaker Callum O'Hare has been at the centre of transfer speculation recently, with Burnley the side chasing him.the72.co.uk
read that article! We’ve ruffled some feathers by not giving our players away
This is just from the top of my head but...
I was speaking to a former Chairman of a PL club last summer and he said something pretty interesting. He mentioned that the industry is actually a lot more collaborative than most would think, in terms of fellow CEOs being more than happy to bounce ideas off each other, especially those in the EFL, and within reason are fairly transparent in terms of sharing the club developments, what they're trying to do to raise income etc.
So first and foremost I'd hope Boddy is building positive relationships with other club CEOs to do just that. I'd look at what clubs are doing and and see how CCFC could replicate or build on the commercial side of things.
I'd also look at how to get more out of our more significant sponsorship deals in order to maximise the sponsor's investment beyond solely just receiving standard advertising benefits. I've spoken to people within Leicester Tigers and a fellow Championship club and they're currently looking at marketing their partners personally or through a local agency as a part of their package by forming more of a brand collaboration and tailoring to their needs in a more bespoke way. It's a great way to attract and retain better sponsors. We definitely don't do this and why I've always opted against advertising with the club.
I'd look at what else can be sponsored and be more creative with it. I notice clubs have individual sponsors for instance Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and we don't.
I'd create an events calendar. After dinner events, golf days, race days etc. Boddy seemed to initially push those pre-pandemic so I'd like to see that get up and running again as if done properly I think they actually work quite well. A few clubs set up bespoke business networking groups which can be fairly profitable if done right. It also offers the club a great opportunity to source more partners.
I'd also probably look at arranging more contra deals given the club's lack of available budget. I know they've done something similar with Dallas Burston with housing youth players/new signings so I'd probably push that further to mitigate irritating costs. This again boils down to being creative with their offering to ensure that the arrangement is commercially beneficial.
Fisher was right in his recent article there are a plethora of ways clubs are getting creative now to Crawley pushing their own NFT kits, or Peterborough United's new bond scheme. I'd rather we kept it fairly basic for now though and try not to reinvent the wheel as the get rich quick schemes more often than not don't work and if anything is a sure way to agitate fans. People will have their opinions against this but I'd personally keep a close eye on potential Blockchain sponsors. As Crypto becomes more regulated the noise within the industry suggests Blockchain companies will essentially overtake betting companies and would probably pay a decent amount in sponsorship as they're still fairly new to market.

Thanks. I remember we had sponsored race meetings at Warwick in League 1/2, Covid why we might have stopped it? Can’t see anything planned for this year
Yeah Covid obviously stopped the events but what I found/find a bit strange was nothing really was planned last season, especially when things began to get back to normal, and like you said I don't recall hearing anything penned in the calendar for this year either.

It wasn't the owner directly. It was loaned by MSD Holdings and has a near 10% interest rate attached.
Guess it’s difficult to decipher how much of a success they were.
There’s some very long posts there, are there some ones we should be looking at specifically to get an idea?Burnley's MSD loan reduction essentially confirmed - Page 6 -
