The full page advert in the Coventry Telegraph is a idea but why stop there why not the national press Daily Mirror would be my choice. Of course it costs money but we have money people locally who might donate a group of whom bidding to buy the club a while back. Our most potent weapon at this time is to get at Wasps it is their stance that threatens the life of our football club.Wel done liquid gold! At last rather than indulging in the finger pointing an idea of something that tries to seek a solution.
A question and not an accusation; what is the position of the trust and how are they planning to galvanize support for the survival of the club?
Harnessing the supporters clubs and associations and any interested party to bring this brinkmanship to a close is necessary.
I am sure that most will want to go to games to support the team rather than spout bile at the owners so how about giving thought to uniting behind Coventry City football club and put forward ways of engaging with Wasps and seeking solutions?
I want to join/support a group that is guiding the support and has a vision for CCFC rather than another EDL equivalent foaming at the mouth mob.
It will be interesting to see the mood at the Luton game and to see if any of the stay away fans can find a reason to actually come and support the "survival of their club"
Who is being pro sisu? This is one of the issues, backing your club is seen as being pro sisu.
Hard to swallow, but unfortunately true.
The club are suing under the direction of SISU which again doesn’t make them the same things
SISU make the decisions, the car analogy earlier sums it up perfectly.
At the end of the day, if the club folds SISU don’t. They’ll still be suing every man and his dog
The car analogy is a bad one. If you were in a car heading for a brick wall you would at least put the brakes on. You would be at fault if the car crashed, but that wouldn’t help the car.
Would like to see the council trying to something together with the „club“ though, as a collapse wouldn’t do the city any good either. I suspect Wasps are not in a good place financially which means they need the club and the good will of the local population.
Could Wasps strike a deal with CCFC and not the owners to secure the clubs future at the Ricoh? I have no idea if possible but just an idea to throw out there.
Could they allow CCFC to play home games at the Ricoh and themselves control the ticket sales to supporters, match day hospitality etc. thus offering CCFC a home but not allowing the owners of CCFC to control it?
Being serious I find the response from Wasps supporters very disappointing. For a club that we are told was very close to going out of existence themselves they seem very happy to let their club send us into oblivion.
That's why I would like Sisu to call their bluff. They are in reality never ever going to win this legal battle, so drop the court cases, call Wasps' bluff and see what they say then.
They still persist in being awkward and reluctant to do business and it will turn many people against them. We then start a campaign urging people to boycott Wasps games.
No but w***s can do the right thing (regardless of legal action) and stick to their word (secure the long term future of CCFC) that they agreed to in the terms of the sale of the Ricoh ArenaNot all of us. I have followed Wasps from Loftus Road to Adams Park to The Ricoh. I'll be a Wasp until I die. But I will be seriously pissed off if CCFC go under because of any action of ours.
What I don't get though is that if CCFC and SISU are genuinely separate entities why CCFC fans are putting pressure on Wasps and not on SISU Wasps can't stop the legal action, SISU can..

No, i was talking about somebody purposely controlling things. Ie driving into things on purpose.
Either way, whoever caused the crash is guilty, but it doesn’t help the car.
The blunt way of saying is we’ve tried to oust SISU for years and they’ve shown they don’t care. Not all of us. I have followed Wasps from Loftus Road to Adams Park to The Ricoh. I'll be a Wasp until I die. But I will be seriously pissed off if CCFC go under because of any action of ours.

A bit like saying it wasn't me who ran that child over it was my car.I don't think the club have too much choice in it other than things like that.
The approach from the "other side" will be to try and get fans worked up that it's the club forcing the legal action (while we know it is SISU forcing it).
A bit like saying it wasn't me who ran that child over it was my car.
Thing is, they aren't saying anything. Everybody is just kicking shit out of the car while the driver stays quiet.
Don't think anybody would have an issue if everybody dragged the driver out of the car and gave them a hiding, don't stand there kicking the car though.
One cant operate without the other
At the end of the day, the simplest solution to all of this is for SISU to drop all of the legal action and make a proper long term deal with Wasps for coventry to play at the Ricoh.
If we have a repeat of last year, with another year long deal being struck, it will just be wash rinse repeat and we will all be having this debate again next year. As far as I am concerned the ball is still in SISUs court.
Has everyone seen the new ' Coventry flag' to be in use for City of Culture 2021. Lady G on a flag of Sky Blue and white......gonna be a bit embarrassing if we've gone......,..
To be fair the Wasps fans who were around prior to their move do seem more sympathetic but the newer fans seem quite happy to see CCFC go under. Not all of us. To keep something that has been going on for over 10 years as simple as possible its just the fact that everything has been tried against SISU and failed. What I don't get though is that if CCFC and SISU are genuinely separate entities why CCFC fans are putting pressure on Wasps and not on SISU Wasps can't stop the legal action, SISU can..
I quite like it to be honest.I assumed it was done by a kid so didn't really comment?
You have always had a lot of sympathy for our owners. To be fair the Wasps fans who were around prior to their move do seem more sympathetic but the newer fans seem quite happy to see CCFC go under.

We've had protests before, during and after games, both home and away, including disrupting games and forcing them to be temporarily halted. We've had marches through the city, boycotts, protests at their offices in London and anything else you can think of. All of that has had exactly zero impact. SISU couldn't care less about the football club and certainly don't care about the fans or any upset they would be caused if the club folded.
So the reality is either Wasps change their stance or the club don't have a home next season. Unlike SISU Wasps have shown themselves to be very sensitive to adverse publicity so any pressure placed on them is far more likely to be successful.
And of course there's the issue that assurances were made by Wasps when purchasing the stadium that it would not be to the detriment of the football club yet not long later their actions could see the football club cease to exist. Saying they can't be expected to deal with someone taking legal action doesn't hold up as an argument as they purchased the stadium, and made the assurances about the football clubs future, knowing there was ongoing legal action. They also made an agreement a year ago when the legal action was ongoing.
You have always had a lot of sympathy for our owners.
You have always had a lot of sympathy for our owners.
The deal to play there is with CCFC and not the owners anyway.
So using your analogy if I want to hire a car from you for a period of time that you own who do I speak to to arrange that, the car or you?
I wouldn't hire a car out, if you wanted to buy it you would have to speak to me.
Is it Seppalla / Coleman who discuss with Wasps or people like Boddy? We saw with the academy that it was Richard Stevens / Boddy who sorted that deal.
I'd either speak to you or the people you employ to get the best deal for the car, not the car itself.
