Interestingly the club seems to have taken the same stance as me and not bothered asking or expecting our owners to do the right thing by the club. We’re reliant on anyone else but them being the good guys.

Yep, clearly the club should be important to everyone else, just not the owners.

They never have been, have they?

People have no interest in understanding when they vent.

"SISU are the same entity as CCFC"
"They aren't"
"They own them"

I own a car, I'm not a car. If I was to drive said car into somebody on purpose then the car won't do the jail time for me.

Problem with that is then you have to accept that it’s the club that’s suing Wasps and the council. Sisu are not on the court papers. If they’re not the club they’re not the club. Or are they not the club when suits?

I'm reading this open letter as a hint by CCFC (not the owners) to the council that they want the council to come to an agreement with the owners (not CCFC) to pay whatever amount it would take for them to cease legal action and therefore opening the door for CCFC to negotiate a deal with wasps to stay at the stadium.

This is where it's about understanding the control bit.

I wouldn't be a car if I drove it into somebody on the pavement. It would be me controlling the car.

How does SISU having significant control over the club make them the club? It's like somebody going round with a puppet touching people up and saying "it was the puppet, not me".

The club are suing under the direction of SISU which again doesn’t make them the same things

SISU make the decisions, the car analogy earlier sums it up perfectly.

At the end of the day, if the club folds SISU don’t. They’ll still be suing every man and his dog

I'm glad we're not Newcastle, I'd hate to be as fat as Mike Ashley.

I wonder if all those, who insist that the club is SISU. enjoyed their days out at Wembley when SISU won the Checkatrade Trophy and promotion to L1

Do you believe Sisu?

If yes then you're a mug
If no then the point you're making is stupid and doesn't help what's happening now.

That is exactly why the council are trying to push that. If people shout "what about the stadium" it gets people from their door.

Well they haven’t - they said “anything that threatens the existence of the football club”

Not “you can’t kick them out for 4 years”
But, they are now saying that statement was made for the duration of the rental agreement - 4 years. so yes they are backtracking and basically saying its cov fc fault now so tough!!

Yep, they are basically saying it was meaningless. Which then means they have misled councillors when they voted and lied to taxpayers to keep them happy...

That is a letter from Otium under the guise of CCFC. They (the owners) have tried very hard recently to create this separation between club and owners but that's not how it works.

Far too many people are looking on this from being a supporter. From that standpoint I understand the responses. But if you look at it from a neutral standpoint it's far more nuanced.

The letter talks about what was said in 2014 but the owners of this club have been told what to do if they want a deal - end litigation. If they don't - no deal. They've ignored that and continued. As far as I can see the future of this club has been put into jeopardy just as much (arguably more so) by the owners than the council/Wasps. They had a choice to make and they made it. The club's owners could secure the future of this club in two seconds flat - end the court case. Or they could continue the court case and sell the club so the two are actually separate. They haven't done either. They've made their bed and are now going to have to lie in it. The owners are relying on supporter fanaticism to overcome reason to put pressure on other parties - they keep on playing this trick and it looks like people are getting duped yet again.

If you reverse the position - CCFC owns stadium, another team rents the facilites but is suing the owners of CCFC. CCFC have said no deal unless no court case. Should CCFC do a deal to ensure the survival of the other club? Of course not - we should tell them to do one and if they go under tough shit. They were fully aware of the consequences.

Having said that it would be very nice to hear Wasps put a definitive deal on the table that can be signed as soon as that happened, setting out the terms/rent etc. But as far as I'm concerned if legal action is not dropped, no deal should be done. If one of your kids is naughty and you threaten them with no dinner/tv etc and then cave in, they'll just carry on being naughty because they know it's just empty threats. If you're going to make the threat you have to follow through. It's time someone played hardball.

In my opinion not enough of our so called support are looking at it from the point of view of a supporter. You being a prime example.

Hang on, Otium is not taking legal action against ACL / WHL. It is seeking a Judicial Review of the actions of Coventry City Council. What does that have to do with ACL / WHL?

You do realise that SISU are the owners and not Otium? How isn't that how it works if they are actually 2 different things?

Do not rule out the EFL agreeing to the club playing at another ground to complete its fixtures.

They can't really say no can they.
Think if it comes to it they will allow it, assuming we can find somewhere. They will be less concerned about preventing the end of the football club and more concerned about not spending years in court fighting SISU.

So who is accountable for the club at the moment, who is CCFC if what we hear from the club is the 'the owners' are persuing legal action against the council?

I can hand on heart say that as much as I despise Wasps being in the city and moving teams around the country if the situation was reversed I would be far from happy for my football club to put another club out of existence and would be happy to join any action taken by their supporters. For no other reason than it wouldn't be fair on their supporters.

The owners are using "significant control" that they have to push it. People at the actual club have no choice.

I think they will be very concerned about the actual demise of CCFC, but it hasn't come to that yet. We are in a stand off till at least March I think.

It is all about a stand off. The same as it was last year.

Wasps are saying "we cant do business while it is ongoing". It is pretty easy to just say "you said that last year though".

Very well said Sky Blue dreamer but I'd put your tin hat on if I were you.

you don't find this language strange from a so called CCFC supporter - "Far too many people are looking on this from being a supporter" "It's time someone played hardball."

this is the future of our club we're talking about and as I've said repeatedly, as much as I want sisu gone I don't want are club to perish in the process.
