He’s not a crap player and if we were having him from Swansea or pre season I’d bite you hand off but right now? Is he even going to be fit to play a game and impact it.

Offering a lower deal with conditions that improve the wage up and give him a year is more than reasonable imo

Jeez £7k a week or £360k a year is not a lot for a professional footballer in the championship. I can’t imagine many, apart from our youngsters, are on less than this.

Not to mention the shorter the contract typically the higher the rate.

This really is not a lot for a half season deal.

At the very least you can read into it that his career has stalled and he has a mountain to climb in terms of fitness - he's in need of a full pre-season.
