If we sink it too far the council will fill it with water and turn it into a 50 metre swimming pool

I think it's all to do with getting more people in isn't it. Would mean though the stands would be at a more acute angle with more fans looking down on the play.I've been wondering that but thought I was being stupid as nobody seemed to question it! Tried google and all I got was a piece about West Ham not being able to sink their pitch as there's radioactive waste under the olympic stadium!
The sky is fairly empty as well and there is about as much chance building a stadium in the clouds and have Lando running it
How high up does the council have jurisdiction over?
Okay.Sinking the pitch does not create any more room for bigger stands.
It just lowers the height of the stands.
Simple maths.
Okay.
My thinking was that you could have taller stands and that due to the pitch being sunken that the stands would be taller, but just therefore be the same height as a normal stand.
Shouldn't that be divine and conquer?Imho, it's a non-starter, the river Sherbourne water table level is approx 6ft below the present BPA pitch,
perhaps TF is musing over some Fishermans Blues,
imho, is it not about time he found something useful to do !

Don't listen to the Wasps PR rep AKA Italia, , you sink the pitch you can have bigger steeper stands just like in Germany.
Italia is pissed off because there is limited car parking he can exploit, due to Wasps not being involved.
Simple Maths
Many of us have been saying that for months, but hey ho!There can never be an expansion to the BPA as the road infrastructure is not sufficient to allow 20,000 people through that area. My understanding is the highways agency have an involvement and a stong influence on any decision to expand capacity there. I'm sure that in the case of an accident any emergency services need access to the road. The road is gridlocked on a Saturday afternoon without football traffic.
It just cant happen due to many obstacles with the BPA.
It's all the rage in Kensington and Chelsea.I think Barcelona created another tier by sinking their pitch might be wrong though
We could all go on an abseiling courseIts not Wasps magic it's simple maths.
The stands could be higher but the angle would increase for seating.
A 33,000 seater stadium would require climbing equipment to get to your seats.
But you go on believing the hype.
Go outdoors sells cheap climbing rope so get in quick before it sells out.
Was that an intended pun?We could all go on an abseiling course
Have to say I think the back rows would sell out first.
NahWas that an intended pun?
That's pretty much it from what I can find. If you're likely to hit problems with getting permission for the height of stands you can dig down and start lower. My thinking was that you could have taller stands and that due to the pitch being sunken that the stands would be taller, but just therefore be the same height as a normal stand.
You're absolutely right. The concourses at the rear of the stands at the Ricoh are at street level. The vomitories (a unfortunate name) or entrances to the inside of the stadium, although accessed by several steps up from the concourse, give a reasonable idea of the distance the pitch has been laid below street level. The Ricoh has a sunken pitch

You're absolutely right, enter at ground level and climb about 12 or so steps, then emergeThe Ricoh has a sunken pitch

So it doesn't save any footprint, which is the issue with the Butts. You could have the same stands at ground level, they'd just go higher.
It's in the middle of several high rise developments, I doubt height is the issue.
God damn Wasps loving physics!
I hear biology is in a conspiracy with the council too!
Exactly. There is very much the issue of eyeline with the retirement village (a posh retirement village at that) and blockage of view and light.I think the height is a problem. The OAP flats have balconies and are not cheap. Someone will object. That is why the sunken pitch idea has already been mentioned. The potential flooding has also been mentioned before.
Guess what guys sisu will never build a stadium for us. Pointless even discussing it its all bull poo

And there's only one more thing more pointless than someone pointing out that it is pointless and that is someone pointing out that it is pointless pointing it out. There's only one thing more pointless than discussing it. And that's pointing out that it will never happen.
