Lol at many years, that old cycle track was dug up 15+ years ago.It's been many years since I was last at the Butts but I seem to recall that there was a track around it. If so, then I can see the advantage of "sinking". the pitch. To me however the cost of doing so would be prohibitive.
People have a right to light. They would never get it passed to have a stand right next to their windows and balconies.Have no idea why people are talking about a sunken pitch at butts.
There's blocks of flats, the butts hotel, 6 story apartments , and part built stadium already, building a tall stadium round there isn't gonna alter the skyline at all

The frontage would be the only potential issue there and the closest flats are the other side of four lanes and at least four storeys high.

Don't misread me I don't think it'll happen or is even genuine.No-one is bothered about the council flats over the road. For one they don't have proper balconies. It is the modern oap flats overlooking the stadium from the side that are the problem. The idea of a sunken pitch comes from Rugby JS and/ or TF. They have already seen the complaints coming.

So I agree with pipehitters it won't fail on height, but in fantasy world it would only ever be 15k
I'd imagine the water table is quite high in that area. Isn't there a river / stream very close by? Not sure what you would gain by it either other than a lower profile on the skyline and I don't think that's been talked about as a potential issue as of yet.
Get used to sitting in eventual yellow and black seats at the wasp arena there won't be another stadium built in coventry. 1 sisu have no intention of it and 2 The council won't allow it. We are just tenants at the mercy of wasps. Harsh reality of the situation whether we like it or notThere's only one thing more pointless than discussing it.
