Gosh did you really warn people that SISU was bad news at the beginning Lord? Why have you never mentioned this before?
Sounds familiar
No investor in the world would want to buy CCFC.....
Are you seriously saying that people would use liquid cash to build property?
No one knows who made bids for the club and how valid they were.
If a hotel is needed why doesn't the council just get a hotel chain to develop anyway? What has it to do with the club?
One of the first to say that it would be a bad idea having Haskell buy Nuneaton and move them into the Ricoh as well.
Better go and read the PWKH Bible (book of Cross Invoicing). The shrine shuts at 11 on weekdays so have to make do.
The infrastructure is already there it was always intended that the club build the hotel to add to the income streams at the Ricoh. The Ricoh has lost a lot of conference business because of lack of hotel rooms. it has also lost out on hotel revenue by having to book guests elsewhere. While Limited had the option to build and to benefit from these revenues if Limited is liquidated as we know it will then this option is no longer available. Grendel remember my post regarding what Mr Haskell? :thinking about:So you believe that someone should by the Ricoh with a huge mortgage and then as part of the deal be forced to put an even bigger mortgage on the club by building a hotel?
If a hotel is such a great idea and the idyllic location known as sunny car park C is such an obvious draw why haven't the council managed to get an existing hotel chain to build there anyway? I'm sure they could do guided tours for guests around the charming streets of Holbrooks and conclude with an idyllic lunch at the Parkgate or, if the weather permits, a longer stroll to the Convoy to sample their heute cuisine.
While you're here, when is the next trust meeting?
Meant to go to this one (just so valiant could rip my face off!) but events conspired against me. As those who go to such things seem less of the face ripping off mentality however, I really ought to go to offer suggestions, even if am in the minority of one...

To be fair, rather more saying that than hedge funds OUT

Not while you're changingAt a telephone box near you probably. Sounds like there will be plenty if room.
I'd rather have owners who were experts in running a football club well.
Not untill they liquidate Limited its notBut at this point in time that is ACLs responsibility not the clubs.
Yes, like now...

Exactly. Why not just get a hotel chain sounds like they'll be circling anyway. Why get a football club involved? ACL can borrow the money to build it. It's obviously such a moneymaker that every bank in the country will be offering a loan.
I'd imagine if someone who is on the board of the NEC is reading this forum they'll be very concerned indeed.
Of course it does but to get maximum revenue it is obvious that youve got a prime site with investment the whole area is a gold mine why do you think Sisu want it. They dont give a damn about our football club they want the site five minutes from the M6where they can make shed loads of money Coventry City are an irrelevance to themRight now we have no say in how the stadium is operated-if at some point in the future we did then, and only then, is it our concern. However-any owner worth his or her salt will know that with FFP rules only getting tighter then the club needs to get all it can from the Ricoh which means buying out the council one way or another.

Going to bed speak tomorrow :wave:Ultimately few owners are going to buy us because they love the club-they will do it as a vehicle to securing a potentially lucrative stadium. I can tolerate that as long as the club benefits as a direct consequence.
So if its a gold mine what are ACL waiting for -- get a loan and get a developer in. Why do they need a football club to help out? Are you saying that they are not maximizing revenue for shareholders?
Don't disagree, but why make it a pre-requisite for any owner of the club who wishes to buy the Higgs share that they have to develop the local area?
It's just making the club a way in to access the rest without the club being the main interest.

Maybe they are lining one up as we speak-we don't know. Anyway-if the club gets full ownership, surely that in itself can only be a good thing?

They are not near full ownership and still no one answers the question -- if the investment is as good as is claimed -- why was it not done by ACL anyway? Money borrowing is cheap and apparently the returns are huge.
You do play that record to death. I hated SISU from day one, only I still do
It also smacks of council having an agenda and using the club as its battering ram to get regeneration of an area (surely a council's responsibility) done. There are of course no guarantees (the Leofric shows that!) and there's always the risk any regeneration and its costs drags the club down (history of both our own and other clubs shows that!)
A radical thought would be to move the training grounds to the land around the Ricoh surely, have football around a football club!
Again, utterly redundant.
Just because the current lot are crap, doesn't mean I wish a different kind of crap on my club.
May as well bring back the McGinnity and Robinson dream boards if so!
