They paid £21m up front, financed through a loan from Yorkshire Bank.
When ACL ran into difficulties paying the loan, the Council refinanced the remaining balance at a cheaper rate.
I think that's how it worked.
Nice cynicism!
I think we have reached a situation where ACL are now financially secure. A small risk exists if Sisu get any success with the JR.
Once the JR is out the way Sisu will need to make a big decision.
ACL have paved the way but Sisu need to make a reasonable offer.
I get the feeling that ACL are moving on and time is of the essence.
Sisu will be on the back foot if JR is unsuccessful and I expect things to move very quickly before year end.
The JR was laughed at. It was in my opinion always about applying financial pressure.
The appeal in my opinion is futile.
Keeps the council quiet until end of November, at which point, by the looks of it, fans pressure for a return at any costs will be quite high.
Les Reid's campaign seems to play a key role in providing that perception.
However it really does seem that it is a minority who are rightly getting desperate as they are missing out in some top football and it seems to them as the quickest solution.
However it doesn't seem realistic to me.
Well, all Saturdays are free now.
Nope but if the ACL claim is true (and we haven't seen any numbers to back that claim up) then the value of ACL has gone up a few bob if they can survive without us.
I think it was also done to try and lower the rent. This deal cuts both ways Fernando !
Now I know we are both fans of the current team and it's football, with equal admiration of the coaching staff.
You accuse ACL of trying to add value to the bricks and mortar of the Ricoh...and I think it has.
On the other hand SISU don't have bricks and mortar and the promise and bright lights of our youthful team according to their accounts has cost us 60 million? Fernando do our young stalwarts look such good value now?
Before anybody jumps down my throat I don't want to see this young side dragged into SISU politics. They are bright lights. But for god sake SISU have been here six years, six years to sort things out and they haven't ever laid out a constructive plan that the overwhelming potential fan base can have a morsel of confidence in.
What I was saying is that ACL don't increase the cost of the freehold* but that the value of ACL will have increased if they really aren't dependent on CCFC playing there. No point in buying the freehold unless you are willing to buy ACL too. What's your point? I am making the distinction between the property and the property and its business.
The freehold of the property won't cost as much as the freehold of the property and the business.
