Yep for me they need flipping in the line up. Norms pestering of tired legs is his best attribute at the moment.Think he might benefit from a few less minutes and Simms from a few more.
Still can't fathom why anyone would start Simms over Bassette currently.
Clive Platt Jnr.
II’d sell Simms in Jan and buy a winger who would compete with Saka, Rodrigues and, ENC in the wide positions. Rudoni and BTA are not WFs.Bassette is constantly on the move, pulling their defenders out of position and creating space for people like Rudoni and EMC - both of whom look better players recently.
We looked less of a threat with Simms today again - although tbf the game was dead. I am deffo not giving up on Simms but I do think Norm is worth persevering with. Got a lot to learn clearly but for me, he causes defenders way more issues than Simms does.
We actually seem to be getting a structure to our midfield again. Sheaf collecting the off centre backs and dictating from a bit deeper whilst Eccles and Rudoni are pushing on when possible and getting into the box.Lampard getting a bit of kudos from me after today. Some stuff we're doing differently with and without the ball was interesting. Press looked well drilled and worked a few times incl. for the fourth, and the full backs were popping in some mad positions with other defenders shifting around or across when they did.
He never stopped running, there was a notable difference when Simms came onBassette is constantly on the move, pulling their defenders out of position and creating space for people like Rudoni and EMC - both of whom look better players recently.

Deffo on the wind up with Lati. The leader we need at the back! Bad mistake at West Brom but you could see how gutted he was. Put it right today by pocketing Gray.Dovin 7

I think Lati is our best defender . He isn't the best player with the ball but if I wanted one player in a 50/50 it would be Lati every timeFucking he’ll did Lati fuck your missus at half time or something?
Performance issuesFucking he’ll did Lati fuck your missus at half time or something?
He was outstanding todayReading some of these posts you'd think Eccles was lucky they were shit
Where in real life he was and has been on several occasions the best player on the pitch
Is it that binary?Lots of solid performances. Hopefully a few of you who are pro Sheaf anti Eccles and vice versa, can now see the merits of both. I thought the two of them were outstanding. Probably 9 for Eccles, 8.5 Sheaf and a mix of 7s and 8s for the rest of the starters. Norman a bit below par, but worked hard.
Be nice if both can be consistently good.Is it that binary?
I really rate both, to be honest (although Sheaf has had a very poor season).
Fair comments but Simms always gets shots off and Bassette rarely does.Bassette is constantly on the move, pulling their defenders out of position and creating space for people like Rudoni and EMC - both of whom look better players recently.

Main moments I remember from him in the game was passing it to their winger 2nd half and constantly failing to progress the ball even when he had space and time to do so.
He could well be our best actual defender but unless he somehow gets quicker, taller and better on the ball I don't want him starting regularly.
He really isn't, some of his stats might look better because he plays so conservatively but look at something like progressive passes and you'll see Thomas is better. Thomas does make more errors, but only because he's trying to do more with the ball. He’s better on the ball than Thomas. Marking a player down because he didn’t grow during the game is definitely a new one though!
Realistically if you get a CB in the Championship that can both defend and progress the ball quickly he's off to the PL .He really isn't, some of his stats might look better because he plays so conservatively but look at something like progressive passes and you'll see Thomas is better. Well Thomas is still here. I rate him.Realistically if you get a CB in the Championship that can both defend and progress the ball quickly he's off to the PL .
He didn’t have a lot to do but won everything in the air, despite his height, and made some good tackles. Like I said, wasn’t tested at all really but kept a clean sheet so a rating of 4 is just too low.Main moments I remember from him in the game was passing it to their winger 2nd half and constantly failing to progress the ball even when he had space and time to do so.

Depends if the injection thing is true though. If so it explains poor performancesThink that's a bit unfair on Sheaf.
Didn't think he did a lot wrong off the back of one of the most gutless performances you'll ever see on Saturday.
I'd still get rid, too many unacceptable performances from him this season.
Based on that game Gibbo, I think you are being unfair on Eccles, Tats, MVE and Sheaf, too fair on Rudoni, Lati and Bidders and may have the Bassette Simms incorrect, but otherwise a good assessment.1. MotM Mason Clarke even though he went off at half time. Frightened the shit out of them. About 70% of play in the first half was in his quarter of the pitch. 4-0 when he was on, 0-0 when he wasn't. Eccles got two but their goalkeeper should have made a better fist of the first one and Eccles was just his usual self in midfield and not much more.
2. Rudoni continues to impress me. Superb ball retention - and that matters.
3. Lati - also had a good game. It is unfortunate that our best leader is not a nailed on starter.
4. Bidders is my comfort blanket. He is just so secure. No stress, no anxiety.
BUT
5. Still not enough quality output from the Tats / MVE partnership. Tats still too unwilling to go for the line, hard to believe but I think that were there a satisfactory alternative his place would be in jeopardy.
6. Sheaf too content to showboat from the uncontested deep midfield
AND
Bassette v Simms is a close call. Stormin' Norman offers massive amounts of energy but lacks the necessary finesse for this level. Simms has better brains, more control and height but lacks the pizazz. I'd probably reverse them.
Lati has got a mistake in him though, see WBA, Wolves in the FA Cup in particular spring to mind. There was that chance on the break for Plymouth yesterday where he’s let his man go because he was flat footed and was fortunate the ball hit the back of boots of the Plymouth player. Will say on Lati, I think out of our four options he reads the game very well which I think benefits Thomas a lot as helps can often be a bit rash.
Like the look of them as the CB paring as feel they both mitigate the others flaws
Think all of the CBs have the problem that they seemingly have a mistake although not surprising due to the age of the lads.Lati has got a mistake in him though, see WBA, Wolves in the FA Cup in particular spring to mind. Yesterday was the kind of game well suited to Lati, we were ball dominant and frankly, didn’t have much to do defensively.
