Point 1 is the point about SISU's reputation in the 'risk management industry'. Joy was able to invest millions into the club when the country was in recession. There is one name tht should take the blame because he has lied to the back teeth to SISU and the fans, and that is Ray Ransom. At no time have SISU blamed anyone for the clubs position but they could have pointed the finger at so many people. SISU have a good reputation in Northern Europe and the States and have a track record second to none. Most people on here are only aware of their existance through their relationship with us. But their reputation in running a football club isnt very good though is it ......... and that is what matters to any Coventry City fan. They havent pointed fingers but plenty of people involved have left for one reason or another. They had a responsibility to ensure their stewardship of CCFC was at a high standard from day 1 not day 1095 or whenever it is they woke and realised it wasnt working. Like it or not if you become a figure head for something there are down sides aswell as up sides. I would seriously hope that they looked at and accepted their own responsibility not just paid lip service to it, that means a financial loss for their mistakes. That is just how business works - fail to plan plan to fail. Really hasnt been a great plan so far has it? Reputation counts for nothing in this business it is what you do today that counts
Point 2 is - are we in administration? We are said to be by an organisation ACL that cannot make the Ricoh profitable and are managed by amateurs. If SISU was allowed to buy the stadium the whole area would be built with hotels and more shopping centres, as well as a station and would have a football club to be proud of. I would rather have the club managed by professionals with a 'business mind' rather than amateur councillors. We are not actually even according to ACL, read the statement, that decision will be made by a judge in court sometime after 22nd March. The accounts show they are profitable, yes that includes the ccfc rent, but you said profitable the facts such as are available say they are. Clearly SISU have been caught on the hop by a few of the actions these "amateurs" have taken ..... but the facts are that the board & management of ACL includes people who have been successful in business. Stereotyping is never helpful. We have no idea if SISU could or would do all those things, certainly they are not set up to do it. There is a shopping complex there already, the station has already been planned to be built, hardly things they can claim as their initiative. Sorry but I am proud of my team it is the off field stuff that irks me
I know this will really have people question my sanity but the proof is in the pudding. Have the council up till this point in time help and supported the club? I can't see anything from them. So I ask the same question of SISU., and the answer is 'yes'. They bailed us out before, they have invested millions even after being ripped off by RR, and they are still with us. They have shown remarkable resilience. from where i look it seems like poorly planned financial control that has increased our debt burden, lowered our league position, maintained losses, achieved a huge risk to the clubs existence, alienated many fans, with a stubborn reluctance to leave because they want control of the complex as that is the only way they get their money back. But i guess that depends on where you look at this mess they have largely created for themselves.
And for all you doubters out there may I ask you a question. Is your anger really directed at Joy and SISU or is it a result of our 'on-field' demise over the years? not about anger at all it is about a financial assessment of what has been achieved and the risk that our club has been put into largely by the owners
