Just watching some highlights and fair play to Danny Welbeck, still scoring goals at the highest level after all these years and so many bad injuries.

He’s never been a double figures goalscorer in the prem, and never really got a consistent first team run at Arsenal, but always a handful and has been pretty reliable at Brighton.

Impressed by Villa yesterday, Emery will have them pushing for Champions League again for me

Won't be popular for saying it on here but they are probably one of, if not the best ran club in the country atm

Looks like Toney is leaving Brentford, hope they don’t take an interest in Haji as replacement, think he’d suit their team quite well

It's a con, they bought him from their sister club in Spain. The model is rigged.
Didn’t even realise they owned Troyes as well. So ‘City football group’ buy a player, register him at a lower league French team, loan him to their La Liga team and then “sell” him to their main team.

Gotta be breaking some sort of anti-competition rules somewhere.

I know they were playing City, but I genuinely think points wise Chelsea will be closer to the bottom 3 than they will the Top 4

Fucking rubbish and I don’t give the Baldy Leicester Twat three months

I’m still amazed they hired him, let alone paid £8M compensation.

He had his faults, but they were happy to tear up Poch’s contract to go and get him?

50+ players on their books who have made a competitive first team appearance and I rate (at an absolute maximum) five of them

Pretty dull opening weekend. All the games went the way you’d expect except for maybe Brentford beating Palace or Brighton getting as big of a win as they did at Everton, but even then it’s not like either were huge surprises. Three 2-0 wins for the teams you’ve expect to be challenging for the title. Maybe Leicester vs Spurs will serve us up with a bit of excitement tomorrow.

Who's manager at LC now, I'll be amazed?

The Brighton v Palace game the linesman takes a week to flag offside and the ref's can't wait a second to see what happens before blowing his whistle.Manageing of the game gone mad .
IMHO the offside was clear acttacking player nearer the goal. The "goal" wait a second the shot was coming in .IF it had not have gone in then give the penalty, after all play continues when some fouls are commited and pulled back when there is no advantage

Chelsea this season would certainly make an interesting TV documentary with trying to keep a 42 man squad that includes 11 new signings happy
Complete circus - my first season watching football properly was Mourinho's first season at Chelsea so to people of my era it is a bit alien to me to see Chelsea this bad

I don't rate him that much but freezing out one of their own in Conor Gallagher (plus another in Trevoh Chalobah) so they can sign 17 year old South American no-marks isn't a good look

I am amazed their fans haven't started being restless with these new owners yet - Granted they had a high turnover of managers and players when Abramovich was there but at least they seemed to have a bit of direction as to what they wanted to do, as well as getting results on the pitch

They were UCL 1/4 finalists when Abramovich had to sell up (should have beat Madrid as well), they have come backwards a lot in just over two years

As you say, would make for box office viewing

Yeah, and they're stuck with players on ridiculously long expensive contracts that will price out any interest from other teams if they need to slim down their squad.
No idea what the direction or strategy is there, but I'm all for the fallout.

I didn't even realise Lukaku is still a Chelsea player! Another who's having to train away from the first team.

That team at the wrong end of the m69 paying £25 million for Skipp from Spurs madness when they could have got Hamer for less.

A lot of the ones they want out will take some shifting and the price may drop as teams know Chelsea need one or two out of the way.
