The money thrown around by PL clubs really is obscene. Football is just a reflection of wider society really, as in most clubs like many people living an actual or almost hand to mouth existence while a wealthy segment show off their wealth ostentatiously.

You look at some of the signings and just think, why? You got plenty of decent players already playing there.

I'm not sure how much input, if any, Potter has on the signings they made. I think he said something along these lines after they had bought a player at the start of the transfer window. Watched a few Arsenal games this season and teams have been sitting off them, letting them playWatching the Everton game, I think questions need to start being asked of players "throwing" games.
