Var had a shocker.

Anybody getting sacked?
Got even fuckin worse (if that we're possible) since Howard Webb took control
Fuckin basic mistakes made week in week out
I've said it all along and will continue to beat the drum
There should be ex footballers involved in looking at decisions
VAR was brought in to help incompetent referees and who do they get to run it.....

The problem with VAR is the PL aren't using it for what it was intended, ie clear and obvious mistakes. Using it to check for 2 minutes that a player was offside by a toenail or there was a foul in the build up is not what it was brought in for. They should get a maximum of 30 seconds or else the original decision stands. The PL should also align with everyone else especially with penalties, I have no idea what is or isn't handball anymore.

How you think subjective opinions will improve having ex professionals making them rather than men who’ve been doing their job for 15-20 years is beyond me
Most of the pundits and ex players don’t know the laws of the game - got the ball being one of the nonsense calls you hear from them constantly!
Not using the technology is bizarre
What are those basic mistakes??

Don't know why the first video is on here lol , just the Jones one I was referencing
How any ref or fan who’s watched the game regularly from that angle who thinks jones red was a mistake needs to have a word with themselves

Suppose summerbee’s tackle on frogatt was a throw?

Every time there's an apology from pgmol is because there's been obvious, basic mistakes
Diaz wasn't offside , basic mistake
There's many others , they don't get every decision wrong but the ones they do , given the technology is not good enough

I see that Anthony Gordon will be suspended for next game for picking up 5 bookings in 1st 7 games, I think he was booked yesterday for kicking the ball away. I watched some of Villa game and saw a couple of bookings for Villa, 1 for kicking the ball away and 1 for delaying a free kick, and they were winning. Are players just really stupid, it's not like they weren't warned about this at the start of the season.

Jamie Allen picked up a really stupid yellow card yesterday when we were 3 up.

I will hold my hands up and say I thought that Jones tackle was an accident. The players put his foot on the top of the ball no intention of going over the top.I thought there had to be intent where the player makes no contact with the ball. The Summerbee one on Frogget there was clear intent. As for that Diaz "goal" mistake it maybe but come the end of the season managers lose their jobs through simple things like that.It was a right cock up.
I have to say it's a job I wouldn't want to do having never been involved in that side of football from someone who has knowledge of these things. I have sat at the city a fair few times and the ball has gone out of play via an obvious deflection and is given the wrong way.Do the officals work as a team because many times i've seen the ref overturn a linespersons decision when clearly their view is inferior to the linesperson. Is it just some refs think they are god almighty.

Yep offside a right cock up
Any person can see something wrong or not be at the right angle or in the right place
When everything else is far from perfect it’s a bit rich expecting the person earning the least to give a perfect performance

That offside it seems was the ref. had not given the goal and the VAR ref. thought he had. It's not how much anyone gets paid. Sometimes they spend 5 minutes checking to see if a player has a fingernail offside or run a possible handball back about thirty times .The ref. looking the moniter didn't check if the one on the pitch had given the "goal".The one on the pitch if he looked properly could see he was onside The check was over in less than a minute.Like I said pevious that cock up may well have cost Liverpool not just the game but if their short at the end of the season the title. These are big decisions .We have VAR to get it right ,there were so many cock up in this one incident.

Don’t disagree it’s awful but for me completely understandable how incompetency is to blame and not devious anti Liverpool sentiment

It’s where I find that the sport NEEDS to engage with rugby. Their procedures seem to be so much slicker. Watch any Rugby World Cup game and the standard is noticeably better when something goes to ‘VAR’.

Well I don't understand how so many mistakes were made in such a short space of time and no one pick them up does the VAR ref. sit on his own if not why did whoever was in there with him not point it out.As far as the onfield ref is concerned as he had not given the goal when he went to look at the monitor ( he had disallowed the goal because the linespersons flag) He should have been looking to see if was onside which it was .As for Liverpool it could have just as easy been any side at the other end of the table.
Like SBAndy said we need to learn from Rugby.

The explanation on sky sports about what happened is hilarious.

I'm not sure it's possible to be that inept, they are still refusing to release the audio.

Even without var, the lino was bang in line. How on earth did he get it wrong?

IF they want people to trust them they need too.I have just seen the refs face about 30 seconds later and it tell the story he had been informed then that the mistake had been made.
