I know that's what I said, against Brighton and Cardiff.
The ladies team have played other games at the Ricoh this season.
The problem is Zam and I mentioned this the first time CCLFC played at the Ricoh, has there ever been any public backing from the Trust or elsewhere for people to support CCLFC at the Oval? No. Yet the moment they play at the Ricoh the Trust is up in arms trying to get people to go and see them because it's at the Ricoh this whole thread, the whole idea has nothing to do with CCLFC IMO, it's all to do with the Ricoh and making a scene, ashbyjan is online now so I am happy for him to correct me if I am wrong and all all the other points I have made on this thread.
There is a clear difference between the Ricoh & the Oval. The former is in Coventry and there are significant numbers would like to watch a Coventry City side playing in Coventry. Is that so unreasonable?
Every fan wants us back in Coventry!!!!
What I want to know is WHEN the sky blues trust is going to start putting pressure on ACL/CCC and WHY they haven't done it already.
It takes two to tango in this predicament and all their focus seems to be at the football club.
Why is there no pressure being put on the council and acl. As it nick said earlier. It all looks very one sided and you people wander why Labovitch is asking about the trusts involvement with ACL/CCC

Robbo - I have no idea how many the Ladies have played at the Ricoh since the start of the season - they approached us and asked if we would help promote this match as it is a big cup tie for them, they need money and bums on seats gives them money so we agreed to promote the match. Its their decision to play it at the Ricoh not ours, they believe they will get a bigger turnout there than in Bedworth, they have done the maths on the profitability. I know they are not promoting any protest and neither are we. We are trying to keep lines of communication open with the club as we feel that talking and trying to get them to understand the fans point of view is still the best way to go - protests are a way of venting frustration and making people feel better about things for a short time but their effectiveness is often questionable. We will keep trying to talk with SISU, CCFC, ACL, CCC etc and we won't be afraid to criticize any side we feel is not acting in the interests of our members and the clubs supporters in general.
The club would accept a 125 year lease if it could take control of ACL (which is what was agreed before ACL/CCC decided to back the wrong horse in haskell and co).
This would protect the stadium from Sisu having the freehold on it and the club will be back at the Ricoh and with a proper stadium management company running the Ricoh, instead of a failing "let's play at running a stadium" company which operates at the minute
This is what pressure should be put on ACL/CCC to do a deal with the club to bring us home

No argument on wanting to prove the point that more Coventry fans would be prepared to watch a decent game of football in Coventry than at Northampton. But I have been at pains to point out that this was a consensus of Trust members in the meeting - a decent turnout but a minority of members - and it is not an official Trust Board position. Nonetheless, many of us think it is a good idea and that included people who go to Sixfields and representatives of CCLFC who were also in attendance. By the way, Jan was not at the meeting so no 'blame' attaches to him.
So What ?/
People moan about the club accusing the trust of being sided with acl, they get outraged. Then a week later this happens which is why jan is doing the right thing in distancing the trust.

If it isn't official trust stuff then fair play, if it is just a group of trust members arranging something then it is different.
As I no longer live in Cov I will take great pleasure in passing Northampton on my way to this match.
Right I will spell this out for the final time and will assume from now on anyone not getting it is doing so simply for their own ends. The Trust was approached by CCFC Ladies to help promote their cup match - we agreed. At last nights open meeting some attendees suggested that maybe a protest should be organised at that match. These are two separate things. 1. The Sky Blue Trust officially recognises anyone going to Sixfields as is their right but for anyone who is not going why not pop along and support CCFC Ladies in their cup match. 2. If any protest is being organised it has nothing - let me repeat that for those who didn't get it the first thirty times - nothing to do with official Trust policy. Just because some Trust members make a suggestion at an informal open meeting does not mean that is automatically adopted as Trust policy.
Hope that clears the matter up once and for all.

Has anyone thought what message this might send if the crowd at the Ricoh is smaller than at Sixfields?
I like the idea of using a sphinx game as a protest. Would really help boost the coffers at Coventry's highest ranked team too. Would need to try to pick a week when CCFC are playing on a Sunday so everyone can be involved.
No but it's not like CCLFC have been forced out of Coventry like CCFC and still bares the City's name, I also don't see the point why the Ricoh would make any odds, this game could have been played at St Andrews, Villa Park, Molienuex, under different circumstances.
Please can you understand that CCFC were NOT forced out . Fisher gave the order to pack up and move out . CCFC moved out , then played their last 3 games there AFTER they had gone. Can you remember the temporary shop with only foam hands in it and only open via the hatch inside the stadium ? That was the result of Fisher getting all the stuff put into lorries and stored down Bayton Road. They were not forced out.
