Knatchbull-Hugessen called on the club to use some of the Academy’s £480,000 grant from the Premier League to end the dispute. And he refuted suggestions that by insisting that the Academy pay up or ship out he is adding to the club’s problems.
“People have accused me of wrecking it and so on,” he said.
“It was my initiative to build the centre and no-one would be keener to see the Academy back there with proper arrangements in place. I built the bloody thing – it was my idea.
“I spent a year persuading people that it would be a good thing to do and then did the whole of the build. I have put sweat and blood into it so of course I want to see the Academy there.
“It’s a thankless task sometimes and I resent it, to a certain extent, when people say all we’re trying to do is kill the Academy.
“The people who operate up there, Gregor Rioch and his staff are brilliant. They do an excellent job and work with everyone and are a pleasure to have there.
“The groundsman John Ledwidge and his crew are also brilliant and to have as a group of people playing and working there, they are a great bunch, they really are.
“And you really feel bad when you’re having to stop these people, who are doing a really good job, doing what they do because of their bosses.
“It’s a mess but it isn’t a mess of our making, it’s a mess of their making. They can put statements and press releases out saying how important it is to them. OK, then let’s get an agreement and get them back again.”

The whole piece in the telegraph.

COVENTRY City have taken steps to reinstate their Academy facilities at the Alan Higgs Centre.
Gregor Rioch and his staff were forced to move out of Allard Way last Wednesday when it was confirmed that club had not paid bills amounting to £14,000 – £2,000 of which is for rent and £12,000 for the repair and maintenance of equipment.
Development director Steve Waggott said that this was a technical hitch resulting from one arm of the club going into administration and that talks were underway to resolve the situation.
Yesterday morning Peter Knatchbull-Hugessen, chairman of the Alan Higgs Trust, was angrily insisting that there had been no communication and that the Sky Blues were refusing to respond to his letter, but he and the other Higgs trustees received an e-mail addressing some of the issues yesterday afternoon.

“At long last they have made a reply,” said Knatchbull-Hugessen. “They don’t answer the core issues between us. However, it’s a start and where we can start is with the money they can put up to repair the equipment that is in their care.
“We’ll get started talking to them and they can tell us what they are going to do about repairing the equipment. There’s £12,000 of work needed to be done on the equipment they’ve been using.
“Let them show good faith by paying what needs to be paid and then we can get on with it. If they are not prepared to pay what needs to be paid then it’s not going to go much further.”

- In other words people on Sky Blues Talk have taken my candy..
“It was my initiative to build the centre and no-one would be keener to see the Academy back there with proper arrangements in place. I built the bloody thing – it was my idea. - Alright mate, keep calm and you might need to see a doctor before your head swells beyond the weight of which your shoulders can hold!!!
“I spent a year persuading people that it would be a good thing to do and then did the whole of the build. I have put sweat and blood into it so of course I want to see the Academy there. - The saying is blood, sweat and tears firstly and secondly do you have a vacancy as if we happen to stick with the unfortunate owners of which are SISU the first team could end up training there next season???
“It’s a thankless task sometimes and I resent it, to a certain extent, when people say all we’re trying to do is kill the Academy." - Who said your trying to kill the academy, Geez does this guy want an Oscar Nomination with his proclaimed 15 minutes of fame with CT?
“The people who operate up there, Gregor Rioch and his staff are brilliant. They do an excellent job and work with everyone and are a pleasure to have there" - Finally something we agree on!
“The groundsman John Ledwidge and his crew are also brilliant and to have as a group of people playing and working there, they are a great bunch, they really are." - He'll end up thanking himself in a minute..
“And you really feel bad when you’re having to stop these people, who are doing a really good job, doing what they do because of their bosses." - Unfortunately this is SISU, Football is a business and unfortunately everything seems to resolve around £££££££ and lets be honest the only reason you kicked out the academy was because you weren't getting ££££££ from the Club, which is fair enough, but don't make out you have regret about it or a sensible being would have taken it up with the club before going all gunho!!
“It’s a mess but it isn’t a mess of our making, it’s a mess of their making. They can put statements and press releases out saying how important it is to them. OK, then let’s get an agreement and get them back again.” - Oh no because anything that you do isn't at all wrong or disrespectful.. Blame everything on SISU if you like, but it's not just "their mess", plus the only one making a statement on this subject is you by running CT to get a couple of quid..

Summary

Shut the feck up mate!!!!!!!

£14,000 owed to the Higgs Centre, of which £2000 is for rent and £12000 costs and maintenance?

Nearly £1/2m given to Septic and gang for the Academy, and won't use the money for what it was intended. TUT!, TUT!:jerkit:

If it was a rational, informed, well expressed opinion I'd agree but it's really just a puerile, juvenile rant with no structure or sense. time you grew up.

Nevertheless it's an opinion despite what you make of it..

Well I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to tell me to grow up, but I really like my opinion and not yours, but thanks anyways.

I have absolutely no respect for sisu, but at the same time I do not think the actions and mouthpiece of PWKH are being used in a professional manner

He sounds more like bob "i built the ricoh" brolly every day

Although i do not agree with how sisu fund the football club, it has absolutely nothing to do with wannabee pwkh

PKWH is part of a Charity that tries to improve Coventry so SISU should pay for the use they make of this facility.
How anyone can criticize this charity is beyond me.

I wonder where the grant money has gone?

SISU is like a organisation who receive charity money and grants yet the money ends up with corrupt officials and dictators...

Yeah and being a charity person is great and I am happy for him, but blowing his own trumpet on the CT, slating the owners and then making out that he wouldn't do it if he had a choice, sorry but everyone has a choice and that's where my issues lie.

Just a short note to say that there is nothing "in it for me" as was suggested earlier. I am Chairman of Trustees of the Alan Higgs Centre. The Higgs Charity spent £10m building the Centre and gave it to the Trustees of the Centre. The Club's Academy pays a discounted rate for its bookings. The charges are made by Coventry Sports Foundation to the Trust. The Trust then collects that money from the Club and passes it on to CSF. None of the Trustees are paid nor do they get any expenses, nothing. Both the Alan Higgs Centre Trust and Coventry Sports Foundation are registered charities: they are not commercial bodies. CSF have to make the Centre pay but are not out to make profits for owners.
The Alan Higgs Centre Trust and the Higgs Charity are completely separate bodies with different Trustees.

Maybe he has a slither of dignity and wouldn't 'do it if he had a choice'?

You're entitled to an opinion, yes; but frankly you're embarrassing. Unless you've achieved something of merit yourself - which I very much doubt - you should lash out blindly at those who do try and make a difference

Ah, here we go again. Anyone who doesn't agree with the majority is "embarrassing" or an "apologist".

I just hope PWKH doesn't say everyone should jump in front of a bus, the suicide rate in Coventry would rocket.

Everyone has a choice, being that he could of gone to CCFC and said "excuse me whats going on? I give you two weeks to pay up and then we will take it a step further" Not run in front of the CT and tell them how PWKH built the Centre up with Blood and Sweat, how is comments like that going to help the situation?

Fine and that's your opinion MMM, but answer me this what benefit does the story have that couldn't have been kept behind close doors? Why add to the crap that is already festering on mount CCFC?

All it is, is another dig at the owners of CCFC (SISU) and it's "embarassing" to use your own word MMM.

No; here's a bloke who works hard for a local charity that many of us have benefited from over the years.

People come on here - who's idea of achievement will be to get their homework done before half-term's over - and spit a vitriolic, worthless diatribe out and it's an embarrassment. Nothing more or less.

I don't know the PWKH - could be the biggest arse in Coventry for all I know or care - but to take that sort of line and defend it just because it's 'an opinion' is exceptionally poor

And I have him for his charity work MMM or did you conveiniantly miss that post??

What's embarrassing is that soime posters believe they are of a higher grade than others and that when these higher grade posters don't agree with something they slate and call poor insults. Your insult "to get their homework done before half-term's over" is old as I have seen it about 100,000 times and it sends me almost to sleep.

That's alright MMM you care about whether your right or wrong I'll continue to care about how my club is perceived in the press.. :jerkit::jerkit::jerkit::jerkit:
