Rubbish. I don’t think a single person expected a magically good performance tonight, and if they did then they are clueless as to the situation we’re in.

Having scored in the first 5 minutes against a team who cannot win at home then you’d expect better than we had in the end

We weren’t close to this bad the last two years. And no it’s not just our league position. That’s the problem, it’s the coaches, the support staff, the owner.
We absolutely were

Do you not remember going to Rotherham last season, by far and away one of the worst sides The Championship will ever see and being completely outplayed?

About this time last year was it

The dinner lady suggested we go back to a back 5 after the international break, Robins had no choice but to go along with it as she was hand picked by King and has his ear.

Robins is surrounded by world class players, coaches and support staff but has decided after seven years to forget how to manage.

We can all play this game.

This bit certainly seems true.

Why are we unique? He's not the first manager to fall away. Sometimes you just need a change, this forum needs to accept it.

How do you know 🤣

Because I’ve been conscious and supporting Coventry City the last seven years?

And I can read LinkedIn. And I don’t think making PowerPoints for the FA or failing to get Ghana out of a group with Mozambique in it match up to what I’ve seen.

Majority of managers have a certain shelf life ,when they have a golden period,I think Robins has reached that point.

So we aren’t rotten to the core yet then.

Were rotten, we’ve just got the parachute of Viks money and whatever losses Doug has budgeted for. When he realises he’s not selling £30m of talent a season and we aren’t going up who knows what happens.

I remember April 2023 when we won 3-0 at QPR, it was a not dissimilar game to last night and QPR were on top for longer spells, we scored two breakaway goals in the last 5 minutes to put some gloss on it. This is when we were a side high in confidence pushing for a play off place.

Because of our current form the perception of last night's performance is much worse than the reality.

Yes, both their wide men had good games. Was it Smith on the other side who whipped in some great balls across the box? I was glad when he went off as DaSilva as usual couldn’t compete.

The real worry is we are stuck with Dasilva now

That was a much better side who won 3-0

You reckon all those people came in against Robins' will and he's working with a gun to his head? Given Doug knows little about football i'd suggest Robins had a fair bit of input.
People like Doug King tend to be confident and believe they are right even with things they have little knowledge on (so he'd fit right in on here!). He's made a fair bit of money and that makes people think they're incredibly smart and know how to run everything.

I'm sure many of us have been in that organisation where someone higher up has these 'great ideas' that those actually running things think are shit. But because they're in charge it's a fait accompli and your choice is either to go along with it, smile and say nice words, or leave.

I think MR has chosen the former and will end up being forced into the latter. Although he has said stuff about supporting the new set-up, he's never come across as being enthusiastic about it (though he is naturally quite dour). I think it's more for PR and showing a united front rather than his genuine belief. I really don't think he has confidence in those around him.

Was going to say on your last point, don’t think Marks ever been excited for anything but celebrating in front of a Wolves ball boy 🤣

I agree. Really want to know who decided to fuck Browne off for Stamenic too.
You have to assume that we put a hold on Browne because it would have been either him or Stamenic, and hence Browne didn't feel valued and decided to go elsewhere. In reality we could have done with both and with the money we've spent subsequently I think we could have afforded both.

I'd have got Browne over the line regardless and then hopefully Stamenic would have come off. I think having either of those (but Browne especially) would have had far more effect than what we have brought in.

Can you name one poster who's said robins is blameless.

I’m sure everyone blames Robins somewhat it just seems to be the last person that some fans are willing to blame. I don’t think Robins is solely to blame but if we lose against Luton I don’t see why he should be sticking around much longer than Christmas, and I genuinely think Robins is a great guy, I just don’t want us to be in a relegation for the rest of the season.

Not sure if that is worrying or comforting. Could interpret that as Robins has always been a poor manager at this level and the only difference between now and then is Hamer and Gyokeres who papered over the cracks.

The head of recruitment was appointed by Robins
I know somebody who has been through the recruitment process at CCFC in the past two years and he was interviewed by Mark Robins and a now ex-member of staff (Not Adi or Dennis)

Robins is involved with appointing new members of backroom staff unless that has changed in the time he got the job

The logical conclusion of that interpretation would say that all managers are poor at their respective levels when you take away their best players.
