He’s clearly been brought in to add depth. I don’t know why you’re getting so defensive about this. You’re normally a good, balanced poster
Not really defensive, just sticking by my opinion he’s unlikely to be at the level required to contribute in this league.

If he’s been brought in as a prospect who won’t play much then that’s fine, but it seems odd we’d do that with a player from so far away that we’ve paid a fee for. So I’m assuming he’s going to play and that concerns me slightly.

Obviously he still has my full support as a fan.

What would people have said about sakamoto?

All part of DK's global fan base plan. Japan, USA and Europe now being added to by Australia. Master stroke!

Sky Blues on tour, should get some decent friendlies out of that lot.

I’m sure someone could knock some lyrics together to the tune of “land down under”

Raphael comes from a Land Down Under, he's gunner run you over.

Feel free to add more lyrics.

Do you think he’s the back up right winger?

Or is he third choice in numerous positions across the front?

develop Raphael and then sign another loan there imo

Could he end up in Callum O'HARE position ?

He's probably gonna be third or fourth choice in a number of positions and a bench option to help manage the minutes of the first team players. Would expect us to bring in another winger to compete with Sakamoto on the right.

Would leave us with on the wings

EMC
Haji
Sakamoto
New signing
Tavares
Rodriguez

Can’t see us having 6 ‘wingers’ to cover 2 slots.

I think the next priority would be replacing Godden as maybe someone who can play across the whole front line but is primarily a Striker.

Someone in the mold of Kvistgaarden (who I saw someone mention on here before) would be ideal.

I'd hope for a new keeper and DM before a striker. I feel they are the two positions we need upgrades most in.

Kvistgaarden out of our price range I'm afraid. Albion Rrhamani is interesting though.

Yeah I did think he might be as I think Celtic were looking at a deal for around £7m. I was more thinking a player in that mold if possible, I haven’t seen Rrhamani but the stats look good.

And LB as a priority if Bidwell is meant to be leaving as you can’t have Dasilva as first choice.

I’m a bit gutted about McCallum to be honest, it would have been great on a free. Although I agree there may be better out there, they will cost a lot of money and I can’t think of a decent Prem loan option either.

Most of them can play multiple positions so you are covering more than two slots.

Them 6 players cover 4 positions really, add in Simms and Palmer or Palmer replacement and you have 8 players competing for 4 attacking roles.

Best of luck to the lad.

Looks like a development squad player to me, but he's young so plenty of time for the coaches to work their magic. Doubt he'll be involved in a matchday league squad until post Xmas when injuries/fatigue start to show.

I reckon we'll sign another couple of wingers and then play the box...

I also think we will sign at least one more proven wide player, probably right sided.

IF we go to a 4-4-2 formation then we may also see a further left sided wide player join too.

We can’t go into a season with just EMC and Tats as our wide players with Wright and Simms through the middle.

If we move to a 4-3-3 formation and abandon the 10 then I think just one more wide right player will be sufficient.

One of the things Ipsw did brilliantly this season was be able to refresh their entire attack on 60 mins with minimal disruption to the quality on the pitch.

Lol at people thinking Dougs going to allow 3 players per position
I’m not suggesting 3 players per position.

im suggesting 2 players per position. Left wing and right wing are not the same position.

We currently have EMC and Wright for the left and Tats / Raphael for the right.

I still think we will sign another wide right player in addition to Raphael who is clearly a calculated gamble.

Your constant critique of Doug is very odd.

Add right winger and a back up for Ellis - Christ we have firepower
