Realistically would we be better to loan him to a League one side and then go for a loan to cover Sakamoto?

Not sure who’s available as a loan in this position, Sobra Thomas has been mentioned tho

Who is going to take on loan a footballer not considered fit enough to play at professional level

This does again beggar the question of why the hell have we brought this lad , half way across the world, if he’s not up to it as a footballer ?

I don't think he's broken just needs a little tuning. 😁

Has this been said by any of ITKs? I can see he played the full 90 recently so assume his fitness is a lot better and would improve more with regular game time?

All came from Saddle so take that as you will but both robins and Lampard have spoken about getting him “robust enough” for playing. Whatever that means.

it's strength he needs to work on, he is seen as still a bit lightweight

that can be worked on, lads a long term project

That was a while ago though if I’m not wrong? Considering he’s just played 90 for the U21s surely he could be playing the same at a league two level?

I know a lot of scouts go to those games so it’s not unheard of.

Taking Tavares's place on the bench the other week was telling I think. Then playing 90 mins for the first time, the other day.

If he wasn't physically up for playing pro football, he simply wouldn't be in the squad. Lampard said after the Plymouth game the reason he didn't get on was because he didn't feel it was fair to the other fit players in the squad who had been waiting their turn.

I personally don't think he is too far away from making a cameo should the game allow.

hes only 21, 20 when he came in, he wasnt brought in the lead the line, he should be seen as a youth thats broken into the first time or called up, not as an starter.

My understanding when we bought him was that he was destined for the u21s. Robins liked what he saw and we don't have great depth on the RW which has muddied the water since but the fact that he is now getting (literally) the odd minute suggests to me that he is making good progress.

I will say a four year deal for an U21 player is very long. We normally give our kids two years and an option don’t we?

I swear Robins when asked said he was going to be a squad player not a development player but I can't find the reference, whatever FL put him on the field briefly in one match so I'd expect more.

It think the initial reports whilst he was possibly still in OZ suggested he would link up with the u21s (not sure how well informed they were) and then quite early in preseason Robins said he was clearly a talented boy and would start out with the seniors (although he said similar things about Obikwu).

Either way, it was always quite unlikely he was going to go from the Australian league to the starting 11 of a championship side. He might not make it - who knows - but it is way too early to be writing him off.

Who said he isn't up to it?
It takes longer than fans think to build up fitness levels for this level of football. Plus he has had an injury and an injury setback to contend with. So it a case of not pushing him too hard too soon and incur a further setback.
He is a squad player at the moment. Not a nailed on first team starter and never was going to be at this stage of the season.
