He’s a good player at Championship level but not one Villa will regret losing. We’ve given him 100 appearances they wouldn’t be able to and his final ball/finishing hasn’t improved in that time
Sorry but referring to a section of our support, who are willing to support the players despite their mistakes, as a cult is pathetic and shameful
Jesus Christ. I seriously give up.
I've always supported our players - read my past posts before writing this kind of nonsense.
I was also saying it was a good thing to support our players but interesting that those who rushed to highlight every mistake by previous players are now rushing to defend every mistake of another.
Fortunately we are in the championship
Well that's clearly not the case , but he's a really good player for usYeah I just remember at the time of signing him and even last season some of our fans thought they were letting a Grealish successor go!

But does he mean directly or just the principal behind it.But…as pointed out to you it’s not the same people who criticised Biamou who are defending Sheaf.
tbf, the talk was if they went down, then Grealish would have been off and O'Hare could fill that role. As they didn't go down, it was all redundant.Yeah I just remember at the time of signing him and even last season some of our fans thought they were letting a Grealish successor go!
Have a day offI'm really not wingy, I'm expecting championship quality. 100% at 17 years old Maddison plays that pass inch perfect.

I would say that 99% of debates on here end with name calling to be honest Stu!
If anyone dares to offer even a fair balanced view (such as the Philosopher) which contradicts the views of '2 or 3 of the hard core' then it usually descends into the usual:
-I've got a stat that absolutely proves my argument (followed by some completely random stat most likely not related to the discussion)
-this is a football forum - you're not really made for this are you
-finding a post from 2009 in which the poster was ultimately seen to be wrong
-finally when there is no argument left we get the usual....you're crazy and obsessed
-and then laughing emojis (the ultimate sign that an argument is lost to be honest)
What is interesting and the psychiatrists would certainly have a field day on this is that the same set of posters who jumped on every mistake that Max was supposed to have made last season are pretty much finding excuses and mitigating factors every time Sheaf is viewed to be responsible for something.
It's actually really positive that posters are defending players but it doesn't mean that we can't have a balanced debate as to how any player can improve.

Find a post where I have criticised a player? You described them as a cult you’d have to be a proper bellend to do that
Once you start calling people names you know you've lost the argument.

Clueless.Jesus fucking Christ. Will you ever post without bringing up Max. Not seen you for a while and straight away “WHAT ABOUT MAX”. I’m not even in the group you’re goading but you’re such a nause.

Looks to me that his defender moved out to perfectly time the offside making the central defender the one at fault.View attachment 22479Just watch Goddens movement and instinct. He’s on the move before the ball even comes in.
It’s hard to tell whether the defender is trying to play offside or whether it’s Goddens little step to the left that drawers him out and then Godden runs in behind him. Either way, he’s such an intelligent mover in those situations.
Agree with this. Rate him think he’s very important but for fuck sake sometimes I wonder what goes through his head. I don’t think it’s confidence I think it’s concentration. It’s like he just loses it for a split second at times but that split second seems to be when he’s making a passAnd THIS is what makes people focus on him more .
He's a repeat offender , it's fine saying his pass completion is 88% or whatever when some of the misplaced passes from the 12 % put us in the shit .
He's a talented lad but I don't know what goes through his head at times .. confidence maybe ?
Still we get better results with them 2 in the middle overall , so we must persist and hope it stops with more game time
The problem I have with Sheaf, apart from his suicide passes every game, is that he appears to just accept it and looks blase' about it, if it was me I would be seriously pissed off about giving the ball away but maybe inside he is but I wish he could cut it out of his game.Agree with this. Exactly the point i made. The difference is that Sheaf plays balls across the back 4 and loses it leaving us badly exposed whereas Hamer, O’Hare etc do it over the half way line so there’s more cover
He doesn’t give the ball away stupid. I’ve seen a stat where he is the joint 31st best passer of the ball in a SSW direction from his left toe when playing away from home in a red shirt. That means you are wrong. I win. Ner ner ner. Robins talks about young players making mistakes and repeating them which is interesting. It’s certainly not just sheaf either but many of the young players will progress hence the improvement in performances over the season the last few years. If young players don’t improve on their faults they won’t progress. If they improve quickly they will move up before us.He doesn’t give the ball away stupid. (satire above by the way).
It’s something that needs coaching into / out of him because it won’t be long before opposition managers start telling their players to press Sheaf into making a mistake. I have seen him chase back and commit fouls from behind after doing just this. (It’s my observation - don’t need any stat to “prove me wrong”). It’s an issue. Hamer has a habit of chasing back and nipping ankles and he gets a few cards for his troubles.
(not satire)
Perhaps the solution is to give Fadz a cattle prod in training matches. Each time Sheaf loses the ball stupidly then Fadz can give him a zap (if he can catch him, but then again in Sheaf can’t outrun Fadz then there is no hope really). Might work.
(satire - possibly).

100% agree.
It’s a tricky thing pointing out any of Sheaf’s errors on this forum. There are one or two on here that will immediately pounce and point out some stat or other and say you’re “clueless” or that you aren’t astute enough to see that he has many invisible talents.
It’s a form of blatant virtue-signalling: “look at me, I’m standing up for Sheaf”. It’s not about Sheaf, it’s about them, and it’s a tad sad. They probably change their Facebook avatar to whichever flag represents the latest tragedy. It’s: “ look at me, look how caring I am”.
Anyway, I’ve pointed out on several occasions this season that Sheaf needs to sort out his retention and passing selection. He’s a good player with potential - no one is denying that; but there’s a simple question to ask: IF we make the playoffs and sneak it into the Prem, is Sheaf good enough as is? I say no, not until he sorts out his retention and passing choice.
For the record, never boo’d or slagged Sheaf at a match. Might have rolled my eyes and shook my head, but booing - no.
Don’t @ me with stats. Stats don’t tell the whole story.
I've just figured out you aren't the bloke who posts all the graphs and literally only deals in stats. Been confused about what changed for days.
That's Philosorapter.

He’s some kind of troll tribute act I think.Yeah it confused me as well.
