So in summary Johnson lost the captaincy for smiling, not having the correct colour urine and not doing enough extra work in the gym?
I guess he prefers players that get into confrontations with the fans because there showing the passhhuunn.
It's an awkward one, Johnson when he's been on the pitch has always been the most committed player in the way he plays the game and he's a massive player when on the pitch as displayed by our results, we haven't even won a game without Reda in the team. If it was like Barton or Thomas he was angry with it would be much easier to just say he's shit and bin him off but with Johnson we can't do that because we need him.
Ipswich clearly don't want him as they allowed him to play in the cup and Pressley is trying his best to make sure he doesn't want to come here either.
How is Pressley trying to force nouble out of the club? He rightly pointed at Nouble's lack of work rate, Wilson and Clarke worked their nuts off the team, why shouldn't nouble?
And exactly how has his tied for force them both out as soon as they arrived?

I agree he should but did he go about it in the right way?
In your opinion is publicly highlighting individuals through the press an having a fractured relationship with your players the best way to motivate your players to work hard for the manager?
Or would you agree with me there is a better way to get the best out of your players and to to get them working hard for the team?
He said he smiled, not that he was laughing an joking. I guess you'd rather we just have robots playing for us?
Tbh I couldn't really care what he does other than the 90 minutes when he plays for us every week and I can't fault his commitment anytime he has played for us.
If someone's playing shit for us week in, week out. It doesn't bring me any comfort to know they are scowling and in a bad mood for the next few days.
No, publically criticising players is not tthe best way of motivating them. IIRC, Pressley's comments was on cwr after the game Plymouth game(?) when nouble came off the bench and he was asked why. If he had already had the conversation with nouble I don't see the big issue. It's hardly Harry Rednapp-Taarabt scenario.

This post is basically palming the blame on everybody but pressley , you did say his judgement is poor at times , but you said it starts at the top , proceeded to talk about the owners , then the players , which are below the manager , then a tiny diG at the manager and then back to the players .
its pretty much why this clown still has a job , as too many of our supporters sympathise with him
He didnt say the names of the players, however highlighted an incident. What would you suggest is a better way to get them working hard for you, defending them to the hilt at every opportunity?
We had it all last year, absolute fiasco with Manset, Slager, Urqhart, Seaborne, Donelly, Akpom all came under Pressley and either payed off there contract or sent back early, probably more.
Then we've got the players already here who Pressley has tried to frozen out, we had the bomb squad when he came in and since he's also gotten rid of Adams, Baker, Clarke and attempted to freeze out Barton.
Manset demanded more playing time when Clarke and Wilson were scoring for fun, Manset was blowing out of his arse after 20 minute sub appearances. he was a risk signing due to budget constraints, at Walsall he has made 8 starts and scored 1. I dare say he might score next week, but hardly a fiasco.
Slager was one for the future, wanted to return home apparently, currently unattached.
Urqhart, again one for the future...
Seaborne, again indicative of the market we are operating in, turns out we signed him after he had been in a coma!
Donelly, personal reasons/ didnt fancy it, would we want him playing in the rough or tumble of league one
Akpom, see Donnelly.
Leon Clarke, all was well, until he wanted to leave to go to Wolves, how is that down to Pressley? Baker, obviously down to finances, how is that down to Pressley, Baker even came out in spupport of Pressley after the Worcester game.
Barton, none of us rated him, Pressley thought he didnt fit in, since then he is making the manager happy with his performances and has been in the team. Nothing wrong there either.
To me this is symptomatic of the club at present, there is a core of disease that is running through it..
SP seems to be the one who thinks he's bigger than ccfc.
If you were disrespectful to your manager at work what would happen?
I manage a team of contractors. If any of them are disrespectful, in the sense of not working exactly to the agreed plan, but are nonetheless proving themselves of value to me (given the resource constraints), I'm happy to go with the flow until they are of less value to me than is worth the trouble. I don't need them to respect me or my professional opinion.
Still, Pressley's at the start of his managerial career rather than, like me, moving towards the end of it; so I guess he'll learn.
Johnson has a bad attitude and SP knows it and has acted. I respect SP for this stance actually. Its a shame however that SP seems to think the best way to discipline his players is to out them in public as that will not go down well with the squad as they will loose trust in their media happy manager.
I'm going to stick my 2 pennies worth in. I've just read the article. I'm going to compare this situation to Roy Keane of old. Not comparing ability but the captains role. There is no way Roy Keane would walk into the dressing room after a humiliating defeat and crack a smile. End of the day I would want our manager to instill standards and your skipper should be at the forefront of that. By the sounds of it johnsons attitude isn't good enough.

What by signing the pair of them in the first place?
Some real conspiracy rubbish on here.
Jesus fucking christ, it sounds like people are defending Pressley over yet another debacle in our shit times. Are people forgetting Pressley signed these fucking idiots and yet he still gets a free pass from some. How can a manager be such a bad judge of a character, player and supposed leader. He has signed shit after shit after shit, yet when we get get some who look like they might actually be able to do well for us they get binned because he can't control them. He asks for leaders but then takes that responsibility off them because their piss is a different colour. So fucking what, from what I have seen Reda is one of the ones who actually care so I couldn't give two tosses if his piss was pink as long as he carries on doing what he has. Yet another nail in Pressley's coffin as far as I am concerned. He goes on and on and on and on about signing the right players who are buying into his whole way of thinking and 2/3 months tells us they aren't what the club need and they are going. Pressley must be the most gullible twat in the world when talking to potential new signings, apparently if you sing the song by the Proclaimers about walking 500 miles then 500 more then your in because you sound like a tryer. We will never get anywhere with this fucking idiot as manager.

There has been a whole lot more wrong with the playing side of CCFC than a head butt and subsequent suspension of Reda Johnson.
I cant help thinking this distracts from other issues
I have to agree with a part of this in the sense of "SP knew what he was signing when he signed these players". Yes Reda's reaction - which no one is aware of the reasons that instigated it! - were wrong and shouldn't be tolerated, but SP signed Reda and knew what he was getting, in terms of injuries and so forth.
I don't think having read the alleged incident it's worth shipping any player out over especially Reda who has been one of our better performers this season.

Johnson is trying for a move elsewhere, I think he'll be gone in January. I'd be fuming if I was SP at his comments trivialising serious issues.....
- He got sent off in a ridiculous incident
- he hasn't been committed enough to play as many games as he could
- he doesn't look after himself or his body to give his best performances on the pitch
- he is pissing around in the dressing room after the worst defeat in our history (after missing a pen he never should have took!)
- now he is talking to the press trying to play it down and trivialise it
I think he is talking his way to a move in these type of comments. If we could get a fee I reckon he's a gonner...
