Yep his response to the ref lipreading is "he ran in to me" bullshit he changed direction and elbowed him.Other angle definite red elbow. He knows ref can’t see
Now now Pete that’s not very ChristianOur players too fair there too what a cowardly wanker
It’s ok it’s a justice kind of thing really winds me up people not owning what they doNow now Pete that’s not very Christian
You definitely want a bell end like that to get some comeuppance! It’s ok it’s a justice kind of thing really winds me up people not owning what they do
At the very least one of our beasts should have gone over and saud they’d seen it and he should watch himself the rest of the game
Absolute wanker coward
Did you see the second video? I mean I'm with you initial contact looks like shoulder then he pushes him to the ground... in the face... with his elbow...Ref was terrible, I agree with that. But am I missing something with that Sakamoto one? I can’t see an elbow. Looks like he’s body checked him then pushed him to the floor in one movement.
Have you got a link?Did you see the second video? I mean I'm with you initial contact looks like shoulder then he pushes him to the ground... in the face... with his elbow...
If memory serves a Forest player was retrospectively sent off for doing similar to O’Hare in 21/22
Someone said it earlier in the thread, but the problem is largely that they are picking referees from a tiny pool of people. If you don't cast the net wide enough you end up with fucking idiots refereeing championship games
Part of the reason that people don't want to begin refereeing is the dogs abuse and lack of protection they get at lower league games. There's not a chance I'd put myself in a position where I'm getting called every name under the sun, threatened and blamed for £50 plus mileage.
The solution I think is to take all referees for professional English football and make them full time, pay them £50/60k a year - so that it's a viable and attractive career.
This next bit is anecdotal and I don't know if its true, but I play cricket with a lad who is refereeing at step 6 currently and on a fast track course. Apparently they never demote a referee, so the bloke yesterday won't see repercussions for a bad game. He will remain a championship level referee, because they worry about the implications of sending somebody down to league 1 etc.
If that's true, then again, it's no wonder they're fucking useless.
The one at ground level? I did.Did you see the second video? I mean I'm with you initial contact looks like shoulder then he pushes him to the ground... in the face... with his elbow...
"Can you see that foul from 20metres away?"Should be like a drivers licence. First offence you get a reeducation course, after that points and if you get too many points you’re banned and can start again down the bottom.
Would they get abuse if they weren't so shit?Someone said it earlier in the thread, but the problem is largely that they are picking referees from a tiny pool of people. If you don't cast the net wide enough you end up with fucking idiots refereeing championship games

Yeah, alright, I see it now!
How many players in their 20s end up getting released and not making it? Wonder if they've ever considered training up some of those and fast tracking them to EFL level as they already know the game. With all the money in the game it shouldn't be impossible to have half decent officials occasionallySomeone said it earlier in the thread, but the problem is largely that they are picking referees from a tiny pool of people. I’m sure in one of the women’s games the other day they said the ref was playing in the World Cup 8 years ago. I’m guessing the girls are doing it. Think it would be a good idea, personally. How many players in their 20s end up getting released and not making it? Been saying for ages part of their scholarship should be a referring qualification. Would give them a much better understanding of the rules and the pressure. How many players in their 20s end up getting released and not making it? You do get sanctioned but not demoted and as a lot is subjective you’d be surprised by what is judged as badSomeone said it earlier in the thread, but the problem is largely that they are picking referees from a tiny pool of people. Most academies do it. Maybe some and maybe only a coupleBeen saying for ages part of their scholarship should be a referring qualification. Would give them a much better understanding of the rules and the pressure.
So much effort is put into getting kids to think about coaching etc a a fallback, but almost nothing on reffing.
Makes you wonder why Sakamoto/the players didn’t make a bigger deal of it. I genuinely just thought it was a body check at the time.Yeah, alright, I see it now!
Pretty sure there’s quite a large pool of professional refsSomeone said it earlier in the thread, but the problem is largely that they are picking referees from a tiny pool of people. If you don't cast the net wide enough you end up with fucking idiots refereeing championship games

Yeah, because football fans are bias, we live to point out what we perceive as refereeing errorsWould they get abuse if they weren't so shit?
He’s in a poor position to see it and the assistant is the other sideThere's no excuse for missing that challenge on sakamoto, it was an arm to the face on purpose. He didn't even want to give a foul for it as he was too busy thinking about how he can give Swansea their next free kick.
It should be looked at with a retrospective red card as he wasn't booked.

Really? Do they have to get an actual qualification? Do they have to do stuff like reffing lower age groups? Most academies do it
Just noticing the women refs are as fast as the playersI’m sure in one of the women’s games the other day they said the ref was playing in the World Cup 8 years ago. I’m guessing the girls are doing it. Think it would be a good idea, personally.
Should be yellows but that ref got castigated by the press and forced to apologise for booking a player for what refs have been told they must this seasonLike they did when their striker committed about 7 bookable offences and nothing happened?
