I am starting to get very worried now. I know we have many supporters that don't think it will even come close to happening. Yes we still have 9 games to go. But we have only got 5 points in the last 9 games. Only Walsall are not doing better......and they are in 9th. Even worse is that 3 of our 5 points were against Walsall. They haven't won for at least 10 games.

17 Coventry....37 14 10 13 67 68 -1 42
18 Oldham......38 11 9 18 42 54 -12 42
19 Crewe.......38 10 10 18 45 70 -25 40
20 Tranmere...37 10 9 18 46 67 -21 39
......................................................................
21 Carlisle......37 10 8 19 39 61 -22 38
22 Shrewsbury 38 8 13 17 36 49 -13 37
23 Stevenage..37 10 7 20 39 58 -19 37
24 Notts County 38 10 4 24 49 68 -19 34

Looks easily survivable. We have a game in hand over half the clubs below us. But not when you look into recent form.

Coventry 9 games to go. 5 points from last 9 games.
Oldham 8 games to go. 8 points from last 8 games.
Crewe 8 games to go. 9 points from last 8 games.
Tranmere 9 games to go. 11 points from last 9 games.
Carlisle 9 games to go. 8 points from last 9 games.
Shrewsbury 8 games to go. 10 points from last 8 games.
Stevenage 9 games to go. 12 points from last 9 games......but actually 12 points from last 7 games.
Notts County 8 games to go. 7 points last 8 games.

So if the next results are like the last ones......
Tranmere....50
Oldham.......50
Crewe........49
Stevenage..49
..............................................
Coventry....47
Shrewsbury 47
Carlisle.......46
Notts County 41

So we have Stevenage next. They have 3 wins, 3 draws and a defeat from their last 7 games. A win for them will put them only 2 points behind us. And they were unlucky to lose yesterday against MK dons. They were 2-0 up with 10 mins to go. Lost to a goal in the 5th min of injury time.

Then we have Crewe who won 1-3 away to Gillingham yesterday.

Or how about the remaining games?

Bradford H 13th
MK Dons H 7th
Peterboro A 6th
Swindon H 8th
Oldham A 18th
Wolves H 1st
Sheff Utd A 11th

So 4 of our last 7 games are against clubs in the top 8. Only 1 of our last 7 games are against a club below 13th place....and that is away.

Worried? I am. Are you?

Relegation has been in our thoughts all season. However looking at the results of others is simply not black and white. You say Stevenage were unlucky to lose yesterday however had that been City it would not be viewed as unlucky. Yes form can be a guide, but its not the be all and end all. As it is, I think we will survive. Not by much, but we will.

If we stay up it will be because the teams below us are poor. Look at the results since we squandered that lead at Bradford. On this form I cant see us winning more than 2 more games this season, if that

So where do you think our next points......or any points will come from? We have even struggled against the clubs at the bottom recently.

SISU They don't care.....

Deleted the rest. It is all a bit of a car crash with the Sky Blues in the 21st Century.

We're in a relegation fight now but our start to the season has given us the chance of staying up we didn't think we were going to get.
If we did stay up we would be in serious trouble next year unless a miracle happens and SISU see sense and sign a deal to play back at the ricoh(which I don't think will happen) until this fictional stadium is built

Too many of the players have their minds elsewhere, just crusing through to season end before they jump ship!
Can you blame them?
Budget cut next season, the morgue (Sixfields)being even more deserted next season!
The 21st century has been a nightmare for CCFC!

Look at Portsmouth because that could well be us next season. I believe we will be relegated. In the summer we will have a massively depleted squad so another mass influx of journeymen players, it never works. Sign 6 or 7 and lucky if 4 come off, probably lose Wilson and Moussa too how do you replace 35 goals ? A real concern.

'Relegation is a reality'.

Hmm, as it hasn't happened, how can it be a reality?

We need 8 points. Maybe 7 will be enough because of goal difference.
That's two wins and one draw from 9 games.

Not impossible.

For the next couple of games I would like to see Webster and Seaborne back as CB's. I would like Thomas replaced with Barton and I would like Marshall to start.

We are in deep trouble now. I genuinely cannot see where our next points are coming from. We have to beat Stevenage.

Championship with Thorn, run in was favourable and we had a real chance of staying up. We just imploded.

I didn't expect anything yesterday, but the remaining games are going to be tough. Too many have been over estimating our ability all season. Especially on the back of our good form in November.

Twenty weeks from play off finish talk to relegation dog fight 

That is the difference between backing the manager and only allowing him to bring in loans that he hates doing. And you will find it was closer to 10 than 20.

It's a threat. Only when it has happened is it a reality.
Like many have said - this is perhaps where realistically many of us expected we would be. Given the continued turmoil & changes I still think we are doing alright. Once the team settles a bit again we will be okay IMO

Obviously the next two games are pretty key, as they are against sides below us and in real danger of relgation.

We lose both those and we could be in real trouble. Don't think we need to be too worried just yet. We beat Stevenage and things will look so much healthier for us. We beat Stevenage and we are 8 points clear of them.

Next 2 games could be very key as to whether we will be mid table or looking over our shoulders.

Agreed. 50 points should see us safe and which a couple of key games coming up if we could get 4-6 points out of those games then we'd be well on our way to safety. Lose then then we're in the do do. Does beg the question are they must win games or must-not-lose games?

As I said yesterday..
We're really in the shit now, wins in next 2 matches vs Stevenage & Crewe are essential now.

This is form over the last 8 matches, abysmal.

Yes IF we beat Stevenage. But in the last 7 games they have won 3 drawn 3 and lost 1 which was yesterday. They have been scoring goals. They could have fun against our defence. Lose to them and they are only 2 points away from us. Lose the next two games and I don't think we will stay up. We have got 10 points in the last 13 games. We got a lucky win against Bristol City and beat Walsall who are currently the worse team in this division for 6 of these points.

Oldham away will be massive. Then most of the rest of the games are against clubs after promotion. We can certainly get to safety, but even easier to get pulled into the bottom 4.

If only football worked like that! ;)

Yes, current form is very important, but look at Notts County. Last 6 games before yesterday were;

Lost 3-2
Lost 3-1
Drew 0-0
Lost 6-0
Lost 3-2
Lost 2-0.

Then yesterday all of a sudden they somehow produced a 4-1 win against Carlisle.

Can we beat Stevenage? Yes, of course we can. And like Stupot says, even 2 draws out the next 2 games should leave us relatively safe for now.

I am not saying what might happen. I am saying what I think will happen. We might get 2 wins. We would then be about safe. Can't see it though.

We lose the next 2 games and then I'll start worrying. 1 win though and it will all look much rosier. Let's see where we are in 2 games time and if you were Stevenage or Crewe right now whose position would you rather be in, theirs or ours?

Next two games are massive. Couple of wins and things start to look a lot better. Couple of defeats and you have to worry about where we will pick up points after that. Looking at the teams around us a lot of them have games they could pick up points in over the next couple of fixtures. This time next week things could look a lot worse than they do now.

Good form is difficult to maintain and bad form is difficult to shake off. I don't think anybody expected a result from yesterday's game however against opposition as bad at defending as we are we stand much more of a chance.

Yes, form over the last 6, Oldham, notts, carlilse and Walsall all have worse form.

Still think it was always going to happen with our tiny squad playing and training at the high intensity we do.
Every player who joins comments on the shock at the high intensity training.
I am not criticising it. It is a good thing but you need a decent squad to maintain it.
We have a decent 11-13 that's it unfortunately.

We will still stay up imo, although its too close for comfort and much closer than I thought it would be.

Lose the next two against Stevenage and Crewe and we will be right in the shit

How are they going to arrest the slide,we have one person scoring once a game largely ,while at the back we're like a seive.

I don't understand why Phillips can't be introduced as Christies away.

SP keeps saying he wants the Coventry connection running through the sqaud.

Why Is he holding back with Marshall ?

It's possible that Oldham, MK Dons, Swindon and Sheffield Utd will have nothing to play for when we play them. Could work in our favour if we are still in need of points

If we do go down can anyone see it spiralling and us doing a Portsmouth and struggling to stay in the league? Can't see many of the current first XI sticking around if we do go down and crowds at Sixfields could well drop below 1K.

Can see relegation and another season out of Cov being the last straw for a lot of people. What a sad state of affairs.
