Like thorn all over againThink people are discounting the chances of this guy getting the job full time. The only person we know to be involved with hiring decisions who is still at the club (Claire-Marie Roberts) is clearly a huge fan and he will gladly work under the structure favoured by the club hierarchy. If he’s in charge for long enough to win four or five games on the bounce then what’s stopping him from getting it?

Is that a fact? The only thing we know about the hiring process is that the club will “take its time”.the fact we will looking to appoint someone way before then
Yeah, but this is the world of football and 200%, so taking its time will probably only be 6 and a half minutes. Is that a fact? The only thing we know about the hiring process is that the club will “take its time”.
Because the club was trying to improve everything from what we had?
It's all been explained about the structure and the whys.
Still, robins was here with a gun to his head and everything was against his will and all the bad stuff wasn't anything to do with him. That's what you want to hear, right?
Doesn't add up does it.The irony about you saying people make things up in their head.
Let's put everything on Robins, he had 7 years of success.
He then stopped using loans, got rid of the experience and got rid of the assistant position that had served him so well.
He brings in a new coaching structure, results go bad, Robins gone.
But let's keep the methods that failed! Haha!
And I've criticsed Robins, you've liked posts of mine where I've criticised him!!
Don't be stupidIf a player wants to shout something over to the bench, will they use Alexa to give an answer?
Huge fan? Not sure that recruitment is about being a fan of someone given that they can be sacked if underperforming.Think people are discounting the chances of this guy getting the job full time. Maybe if you explain that the coaching structure needs to be two-footed it'll break through, otherwise I think you're expecting too much abstract thought hereThe irony about you saying people make things up in their head.

I don’t think we would get much back, I would make him show some proper commitment though and if he is still living in the Barnsley area get a place down hereId sell Kitching first order of business
It's the same as using the blue tracksuits as some kind of disparagement. The same blue tracksuit Robins was wearing.
I was wondering if the new head coach will be made to integrate the expensive signings so they have some resale value.Id sell Kitching first order of business
Yeah, that never felt right.Think people are ignoring robins quotes about the coaching setup. The ones where he says he was planning how it would work while interviewing them.
It's fucking weird.
Tomorrow the players will be in training to prepare for the game at Sunderland. What experience is Rhys going to draw on to support him in the preparations?
Why is this thread 5 pages long?
He's a caretaker with 0 chance of getting the job full time and I'd be shocked if he's in charge for more than 1 game.
Robins: regularly complains under SISU that we don’t have the back room to compete with the teams at the top, that never felt right.
It is was something MR was fully on board with, or even instigated, he'd have know longer before an interview process how he would want it to work.
I'm still sure he got told it was happening and either agree with it or leave.
He might have wanted more staff to help. Doesn't mean he wants them in the structure he was given them.Robins: regularly complains under SISU that we don’t have the back room to compete with the teams at the top
king comes in and brings in the setup

Can you tell me the day to say workings of the new coaches and what their roles are? What was the number of staff brought in compared to the number departed?
And what was the quality of them?
Pretty sure he was aware of the incoming structure. He might have wanted more staff to help. Doesn't mean he wants them in the structure he was given them.
Can you tell me the day to say workings of the new coaches and what their roles are?
you know so we can assess the quality?
I’m pro the set up myself, I think it’s more fluid and modern in line with what is needed and desired by newer players.I can't, no. You're the one who mentioned the set up King has brought in so I'm asking you about it.
I’m pro the set up myself, I think it’s more fluid and modern in line with what is needed and desired by newer players.
I’d suggest the issues we’ve suffered from are tactical, and therefore rest with Robins. Despite my previous concerns I actually think we were starting to turn it around as suggested by other posters.
I ask about the coaches because everyone is determined to blame them but can’t pinpoint what they’ve actually done wrong

Yeah I’d suggest it isI've not blamed them. You said Robins wanted more coaches in, I'm merely asking is the coaching staff bigger given the departures and what is the quality of those I coming compared to those outgoing?
Robins has regularly started most of his seasons with us with a low risk passing game. It’s slow and cumbersome. So you’re saying there’s nothing wrong with the coaching,it’s all down to Robins tactics.
We can’t defend set pieces, bring everyone back for corners and have no outlet.
The midfield is not functioning, we have stopped moving the ball quickly ( which is something we have become renowned for over the previous seasons ).
This in turn stops us getting the ball forward quickly to catch defenders unprepared.
The whole team set up is a shambles, but it’s all down to the manager. The coaches have no responsibility for any of this.
Genuine question, what are the coaches actually doing on a day to day basis then ?
Surely they work as a team. Or do you seriously think Robins had all these new coaches, and gave them instructions which they followed with no input.Robins has regularly started most of his seasons with us with a low risk passing game. It’s slow and cumbersome.
After it doesn’t work he reverts to the quick passing counter attacking game that suits us well, hence for me the reason we start the season badly usually.
maybe he’d have done it again, but King clearly didn’t want to give him the chance.
his team selections have become more erratic, Rudoni at left back Sakamoto as the 10 more recently.
is he totally responsible? No - I feel the players share ultimately the main blame but you can’t fuck 25 players off, it’s always the manage that gets canned.
the players look confused, as if they weren’t sure of what they’re doing. This is translated to them via the manager.
In terms of coaches - that’s precisely what I’m on about, mass criticism but nobody knows what they do. Their job is to drill in what the manager is asking the team to do, Robins changes formation every week - how do you expect them to work on that?
Best hope we lose on Saturday otherwise they’ll take the cheap option and give him the job permanently
It's a travesty that Thorn never made it to England manager. He would have done a fabulous job.If we won there would be people demanding it like they did with Thorn
Saddlebrain’s Sky Blue ArmyWell, I can see myself being in a Saddlebrains Wonderland then.
Maybe they have? Might explain the allegations of mixed messages?Surely they work as a team. Or do you seriously think Robins had all these new coaches, and gave them instructions which they followed with no input.
You’re telling me that professional coaches new to a club, watching a team fail on the pitch due to tactics, turn up each day and go through the same process without ever saying hey up gaffer I think we need to change this ?
