On the off chance that this is genuine, would that mean he would have been both the longest serving and shortest serving Championship manager in the same season?
If he relegates them I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets the sack.arguably yeah
can’t be true though, they’d be stupid if it was
Sadly true... which shows that they are run by a bunch of morons when it comes to football. If he relegates them I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets the sack.
I hope they don't. I think he could win league 1 with them and that would make me happy personallyIf he relegates them I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets the sack.
Why? he was with us when we got relegated to league 2, then look what happened. If he relegates them I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets the sack.
The situations are completely different. Why? he was with us when we got relegated to league 2, then look what happened.
And yes I know we were all but down anyway, but relegation doesn't automatically mean he should be sacked.
It's what he can do in a pre-season transfer window with whatever money he's given that's important.
We know what he can do given time.
The stars aligned for us I'm not so sure that history could repeat itself with MR at StokeWhy? he was with us when we got relegated to league 2, then look what happened.

Possibly at Stoke with their record of firing managers that might be true.If he relegates them I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets the sack.
He probably just wanted to get back into management, I imagine. It’s not like Stoke are renowned for being patient!Possibly at Stoke with their record of firing managers that might be true.
A more sensible ownership would have realised they need a complete reset a while ago, as they've been rotten for a good few seasons now. I wouldn't be surprised if Robins didn't get assurances that he'd be safe even if they went down before he accepted the job. It seems a weird one for him to have taken if he didn't.
Possibly, but you'd think it would be worth waiting for a less thankless job, considering the state of them, and their impatience. He probably just wanted to get back into management, I imagine. It’s not like Stoke are renowned for being patient!
More or less stupid than Doug was?arguably yeah

I would bet good money that he increased his salary significantly from what he was on here and signed a 3 and a half year deal.It was so obviously the wrong move for him and it could easily badly tarnish his record.
Should have waited until the close season for a better job.
I'm sure these contracts can't pay out the full term. There may well be strings attached about performance.I would bet good money that he increased his salary significantly from what he was on here and signed a 3 and a half year deal.
If they sack him and pay him out, i’d say a couple of million quid for half a seasons work is a fantastic move

yeh but probably a 12 month payoutI'm sure these contracts can't pay out the full term. There may well be strings attached about performance.
Who would bother signing a 3 year contract with only 1 years guaranteed pay?yeh but probably a 12 month payout
it’s more of a club controlled option in practiceWho would bother signing a 3 year contract with only 1 years guaranteed pay?
