Why? he was with us when we got relegated to league 2, then look what happened.


And yes I know we were all but down anyway, but relegation doesn't automatically mean he should be sacked.
It's what he can do in a pre-season transfer window with whatever money he's given that's important.

We know what he can do given time.

The stars aligned for us I'm not so sure that history could repeat itself with MR at Stoke

Possibly at Stoke with their record of firing managers that might be true.

A more sensible ownership would have realised they need a complete reset a while ago, as they've been rotten for a good few seasons now. I wouldn't be surprised if Robins got assurances that he'd be safe even if they went down before he accepted the job. It seems a weird one for him to have taken if he didn't.

He probably just wanted to get back into management, I imagine. It’s not like Stoke are renowned for being patient!

Possibly, but you'd think it would be worth waiting for a less thankless job, considering the state of them, and their impatience.

I suppose you can't guarantee you're going to get offers, though, and he'd back himself.

Reading between the lines, and seeing how he was with us, and sad to say it by the end, but the man was a bit lost largely in part to his personal situation.

When he took the job at Stoke, one of the first things he said in his initial interview was that he was going a bit stir crazy at home whilst not working.

I don't think a huge amount of due diligence was done and he just went straight back to work. You and me may disagree, but I think he could have got a much better job. I think he just went for the first thing that came available and didn't really entertain much else.

I for one hope he keeps them up and has a positive future. It would be a bit sick if they did get relegated and he had that on his CV after all he achieved with us.

It's a free hit as a manager, you either go there steady the ship and get bigger jobs of the back of it, or everyone blames the owner when it goes tits up and get a decent pay out at the end.

The Man Utd of the Championship. Think they should be top 4, always underachieve and a managerial merry-go-round. As a big fan of Robins, I want him to succeed but Stoke fans are making it increasingly difficult to want that. Bunch of absolute wankers.

I would bet good money that he increased his salary significantly from what he was on here and signed a 3 and a half year deal.

If they sack him and pay him out, i’d say a couple of million quid for half a seasons work is a fantastic move

I'm sure these contracts can't pay out the full term. There may well be strings attached about performance.
