Who would work from your POV? Not fussed if they're especially realistic. Just trying to get my head around what people expect or feel would be the right fit.

To be Perfectly honest, I haven't a clue.
Though I think the profile will be a young coach in the McKenna mould.
Fairly sure they'll be fairly unknown which will be uninspiring at first I doubt it will be anyone with anything more than a modest current profile

...it just goes to show how ridiculous this sacking has been. Not one (bar maybe Moyes) makes any sense in all those names suggested.

tbf if we'd announced the new bloke at the same time that wouldn't have been a great look, would it?

Maybe there's a bit of dignity in letting MR go before we're too far down the road with someone else.

and let's not pretend many (if any) of us know who the good candidates are for the role we want to fill.

Apply the same thinking to this as to our signings. No one knew of MVE or Haji, or Hamer, or Vik, etc.

Pretty unlikely any of us are gonna have an informed opinion re: whether who we try to get is a good fit.

Can't see it being any of the names like Lampard, Carsley etc. Personally I think it will be someone completely left field not even on the bookies list.

A number of transfers under King have been announced out of the blue (like Bassette) and i think the same will happen this time. I reckon they've known for a few weeks who we want in next. Robins would've gone if we'd lost to Luton.

Looking at things optimistically, will be good for some players to be given a clean slate and to see who can emerge from that. Whoever is appointed I'm sure there will be quirks that we'll pick up on but it'll be interesting to see how players like Torp, Kitching and to some extent Dasilva fair - all players who never had the full trust of management you feel.

Then there's Raphael - will we actually finally get some different answers around what's going on there?

Well there are no favourites now for the boss. The players will have to work even harder and impress any new boss.

Carsley has some weight I think.

No announcement yet, as he has a final England U21 fixture to play next weekend. Tuchal taking over in Jan, and may want his own man managing the U21s.

Local to the area (or at least used to be), ex-player, highly rated coach, and probably wants a crack at club management. If it was to be him, I am sure it's been agreed already. His swerving of the question yesterday, suggests he's interested, or already got the job.

If King has pullled the trigger with no clue on the replacement then it just makes the decision even worse.

You'd like to hope (or at this point pray) that the new Head Coach will be confirmed very quickly, International Break on the horizon, plenty of time to get their ideas across if they are appointed quickly and work with a large number of the group.

Ideally we don't want this dragging on too long.

Although the new "head coach" will have to work with the clubs structure it doesn't mean the current first team coaches will remain,I expect the new head coach will have his own assistant in mind.

Frank Lampard I've heard
Would make a lot of sense.

FL has pedigree of being a good player, he's worked in the Championship and Premier League, he was good for the development of younger players, as he's not attached to a Club he'd be free to sign for no compensation and could start immediately.

I said on here yesterday, but I understand he's a friend of DK's as well, so no surprise to see a link to Lampard.

I think that would be a poor appointment personally, but he’d get my backing (for the first 20 minutes of his first game).
To be fair to Lampard. He did pretty well at Derby, and got them to the play off final. Followed his heart by jumping ship to Chelsea, but they were already in a mess. Everton wasn't great, but that's a fire fighting job. Clever bloke, and will want to prove a point, but don't want him.

When did Lamps become a friend of Doug?

Not sure how good he is but if we are allowed to loan players then his Chelsea connections could be useful as they seem to have about a billion players.

Don't know HDW. It was something a friend mentioned to me recently and again yesterday, no *reason to* doubt it's validity, but I've really not asked to much about it.

For the last few weeks we have had fans saying that they had been sold premier league football with the £500 season tickets and we are rubbish and it needs sorting/

DK takes the action he thinks we need to sort it and now the same fans think Robins is now the second coming of Christ.

the last 4 matches were better, but only marginally.

QPR away we were awful
Luton at home we were 2 nil down, played well and won in the last minute
Boro away we played against 10 men for 70 mins and for long periods were very average. The score flattered us.
Derby we were poor again.

Consistency and perspective please ….

You're wrong, the Venn diagram of people going on about being sold a dream and those wanting Robins chased was almost a perfect circle, so they've got what they wanted
