You're probably right but whoever Doug King brings in the new managers is gonna want to bring his own staff in so it's going to cost Doug King some money 🤑
If only we didn’t sack our most successful manager of recent history. Think of the money Doug could of saved then 🤣

The majority of our fans wanted Andy Thorn as manager back in the day Charles as he gave a cheery wave every game
You've proved my point nicely Grenners. Vast majority of owners/chairman/board have same knowledge as fans (very few exceptions).

Hasn’t Potter been “resting” since the Chelsea gig? Wouldnt It be nice if he felt burned by his time at Chelsea and is longing for the chance to build a midlands team to get back to the Prem……. Ahhh day dreams

Although with DK’s great lack of football knowledge, he probably will go with a reputation like Allardyce. I’m ruling out nothing.

Was reading Swanseas forum and they’re really complementary about Alan Sheehan
As a number two

Rightly or wrongly, I just don’t see him or a Bloomfield who have spent the majority of their careers in L1 and L2 commanding the respect of a multi million pound assembled squad with some international footballers in it

That is probably a damning indictment of the attitude of a modern day footballer but it’s just the way it is and I just can’t see it working

Performance Director interview in the CET

“In the last couple of months we have been trying to maximise the performance opportunities we have in the pre-season, so a lot of the arrangements for pre-season matches have fallen to me because we are looking to utilise that time in the most intelligent way to prepare us in the best possible way for the new season.”

That worked well, didn’t it. Pre season certainly flattered to deceive.

Didn’t we have to cancel one game cos she’d organised it the Wednesday before the season starts?

Lampard isn’t my first choice but 2bh he did a good job at Derby and he managed Chelsea through their transfer embargo. Brought through Mount and Reece James - I think Conor Gallagher come through him.

Everton are a basket case and he kept them up there.

reputation wise - he’d command the respect of the players instantly.

He was caretaker manager after Duff, one of their commenters stated he saved their season

As you’ve said - would they command the respect though

Not a single part of me thinks Lampard would be a good choice.

My only slight hope would be that if he did get the gig then King must have promised him a few quid to spend.

If he's stipulating he's got to work with the IT Crowd I doubt he's going to give cash to spend.

I do think a young squad as ours would look up to and respect his pedigree as a former world class player.

Perhaps I’m just going off the fact I liked him as a player and I think he comes across as a very intelligent and articulate bloke but I’m willing to give him cautious benefit of the doubt if he gets it
