Right who's the next manager then? (14 Viewers)

Think I’d rather have Tommy Gravesen as head coach than Nicky f-ing Butt.

I like Moyes but what suggests he could get us promoted?

He's good at setting up a team on the counter attack and finishing mostly mid table

nothing suggests it apart from what he did a couple of decades ago, but it’s more than any of the other names being bandied around

How anyone could get excited about David Moyes managing their football club is beyond me.
His record at Everton and West Ham is not bad though and he has won a European trophy. West Ham are doing worse since he left and he is is a stable manager. Even if he is not a swashbuckiling type, those credentials appeal to me.

But has anyone ever enjoyed watching his teams play? It’s such dour, unimaginative football. We aren’t going to win the Europa Conference league, so if the equivalent of that for a Cov under Moyes was five years of boring football and a Bristol Street Motors trophy, would that be okay?

Some of his teams at Everton were a good watch. It's functional football.

The equivalent success isn't a trophy we don't compete in. It would be promotion in any form. If we play 'boring football' and go up that's what we can hope for. Better than boring football and losing which is what we have been treated to so far this season.

It's not about us winning a European trophy. That achievement is just a demonstration of his managerial ability, which for the vast majority of the time he has outperformed. If he did that here we would be in the top flight.

Who would you be more confident in taking over?

His Preston side in the Championship played some good football. He became, let's say, far more pragmatic in the EPL.

Did King not mention on Monday that re recruitment, the head coach would be involved as Robins was. Does King have links to the Redknapps as well? Collomosse said only the other day that it's a shortlist of 5/6, now it's two but also Carsley as a third option. Quite a specific update, but still doesn't ring true

A friend has told me that Doug King and Frank Lampard are friends (shared this information previously here) how close or how far this extends to Redknapp family I am not sure. Makes me think there is an element of truth behind this.

How would a Man Utd blogger know any of that, except possibly that RVN has applied?
If you look at the history of the United Stand they’ve got a lot of things spot on, not just a blogger in fairness to them.
