Right who's the next manager then? (18 Viewers)

And are you saying they had a poor squad?

Anyway what can you do. To me it’s pretty poor that we’ve apparently decided an exciting name is more important than getting the right man, modern football though I suppose.
Of course they didn’t have a poor squad, it’s impossible to finish in the top 4 of the prem with a poor squad.

Lampard’s first season at Chelsea was impressive, no one can deny that. They lost their talisman in Hazard with no opportunity to replace him. Lampard did an excellent job to keep them in the champions league and brought youth in to the team as well.

That achievement alone is in a different stratosphere to anything Evatt has done.

Well if there's any truth in the rumours that Robins had an assistant lined up around the October international break and then the plug was pulled he would have had an idea that the writing was on the wall.

Would also explain his out of character behaviour after the Preston game around that time, he must have felt under more pressure than usual.
guessing he probably thought he’d have a bit more time after the Middlesbrough and luton games, the derby result nailed him,

Hate the idea when it comes to manager discussions that every one but one decision is crap. Not you just how it is in general seen it way too much with people shitting on Frank due to RVN.

Think Lampard undoubtedly has things Evatt won’t have experience wise and connections wise which makes him a better candidate in some ways.

While I really think Evatt is one of the up and coming English managers and feel with the decent backing here could get a team like ours playing with a identity and would be up the higher end of the division.

Would be happy with Frank, but made no secret to who I want.

Blame Pete for this 🤣

Can see RVN being announced after the Shef United game and maybe a day before Burnley, giving the current lad the 2 games in charge and then RVN in charge for our home game against Cardiff.

Probably makes sense, you bring a new manager in after 2 of the hardest fixtures to give him a chance to please the crowd and inject some confidence in the squad.

Going to be honest, while I get the logic hate the idea of any manager holding away due to the fact there two big teams. We need the manager to have the most time and if they don’t think they could at least show a decent performance to give people an idea about them, I’m worried about them in general

You say that but robins lost his first 3 games without scoring in his second spell - just get the new guy in and let him go

I get you but after all the backlash DK has received for sacking Robins I have a feeling he will want his new appointment to win his first game at the least.

Shef and Burnley are 2 really tough games.
I get that - but we shouldn’t look at anything as tough. We’ve got aspirations of being in the play offs. 1 win out of that double is doable

There is still the possibility that doug won't pay for a big name , it's OK interviewing them but he wouldn't pay hamer or o'hare their wages ?

Might just end up with gary rowett just yet 😂

But they are games where if we want to be up the playoffs we will have to get something from

RVN looks like it was a ploy by his agent to show Burnley/Leicester that he's willing to take over if they sack Parker/Cooper.

Robbie Keane was at the England game yesterday. Would be surprised if he hasn't applied/been interviewed.

Yeah, which is entirely reasonable to assume after those 2 performances. I was genuinely concerned for him before those results, but was then convinced we'd turned the corner and he'd done it again.

Granted Derby was potentially a blip, but as he said in his post match, it takes a while to get that consistency with younger players. I guess we'll never know now if we were on the cusp of another Robins run into and beyond Christmas or not. I felt like we were though. Wouldn't have taken much for our results to start matching our xG/xA

You have to look at what sort of manager we need. It’s not really a complete shoestring exercise now. Neither is it embarrassment of riches stuff. We need someone with a track record in the division and who can make good players better. We’ve got to get away from being seduced by big names.

Waiting for you to tell me how Skubala has more experience than RVN

Ryan Lowe is still available. He could teach is how to beat Preston. To be fair, he over achieved with a Preston team that had no stand out stars so he has something about him

I’m not sharing any details but from what I’ve heard about how he acts, we absolutely do not want him here at all
