RVN is the sexy appointment, but also dangerous. Will he adapt to managing in the Championship? Will he really buy into CCFC and its ambitions? No doubt ,if he's even semi successful, he'd be off.
Lampard would be a more solid appointment. Managed in the Championship before, and would need to prove himself (at Cov) in the Premier League before others would start circling.
Carsley would fit the mould for us more, based on what King is looking for, but managing/coaching young international players for one-off games is very different than a 46 game Championship season. Would he be too nice?
I just joined the chat seen evatt mentioned , seen a few dismiss it and simply offered a reason why he might not be as bad as people make out , he plays attacking football , is young and has a very good record over a sustained period at 2 clubs
Ring, I’ve been pitching Ian from the start. I’m very happy with this update and would take him as my number one target.don’t give a shit where he’s from, I’d take him over Lampard, based on his record.
I’m getting Deja vuHe's got 2 promotions and a FL trophy already in his first 6 years of management

Just got called crazy too many times that I have to celebrate people joining in
Well for me it wouldn't be a bad appointment and better than bloomfield and Keane, I just don't think doug wants that kind of profile because really it's obvious he would rather a high profile that will draw more attention to the club .Never thought I’d see me and Evo agreeing over a manager target
He's likely to sacked by Bolton very soon.Hardly. He’s a decent manager who’s done very well in his career so far.
He's likely to sacked by Bolton very soon.
If he wasn't from Cov people wouldn't give him the time of day
50% win rate at Bolton a after three years and three points of the playoffs. Hardly a terrible jobHe's likely to sacked by Bolton very soon.

yeah, it's okay at small clubs but he is now failing at a team that should be much higherWhich is wrong, look at his record.
Calm down dearMaybe take a look at his record before moaning because you want a “big name”.
cool, still a weird flex to want him50% win rate at Bolton a after three years and three points of the playoffs. Hardly a terrible job
Calm down dear
Just pointing out it it’s not as exciting
I’d also rather not appoint someone who currently seems to be on a downward trajectory.
One important thing to consider about Evatt for me - the rumour about him getting an interview with us was something I completely made up.

Not for me
It’s all on Pete then nowOne important thing to consider about Evatt for me - the rumour about him getting an interview with us was something I completely made up.
Got them promoted from league two, won them a cup, third last year in a tough league one. Again not a massive failure but fair enoughyeah, it's okay at small clubs but he is now failing at a team that should be much higher
Not for me
I’m taking that as a shrewd pick upUs hiring Evatt would be like a Prem team picking up Robins. That won’t be happening.
It isn’t an exciting appointment and runs the risk of the average fan getting bored of watching compared to Lampard managing. I’m not against it though.
Say to the average Coventry resident who has a mild interest in football would they rather watch Frank Lampard managed Cov or Ian Evatt managed Cov they would say Frank Lampard everytimewhy does it mean the fans would get bored? The guy has a reputation for attacking football.
It’s ok to not have him as preferred candidate, but some of the garbage justifications- “failing”, “not exciting”, “bored”, really just shows how clueless some of our fans are.

Dont disagree but you don’t win promotion on a name. Same issue Birmingham found last year.Say to the average Coventry resident who has a mild interest in football would they rather watch Frank Lampard managed Cov or Ian Evatt managed Cov they would say Frank Lampard everytime
I'm surprised so many are overlooking his record tbh
Either way , it's not going to be evatt so there's little point debating it
If the football was the same, Lampard would attract more from the media and the average fannonsense, the fans wouldn’t care who was manager if the football was right.
That’s a big if considering they both play quite different styles of footballIf the football was the same, Lampard would attract more from the media and the average fan
