It's obvious that King doesn’t take advice from randoms on the internet. But he doesn’t exist in a vacuum either, and if the tub-thumping about sacking Robins wasn’t intended to create an atmosphere around the club or have the slightest influence on anyone, why do it? I’ll bet the strength of feeling about his decision has taken King aback a bit, because people who wanted Robins to stay weren’t banging on about it all the time.
Anyway, whilst the treatment of Robins has been very poor, I think the talk of grief is way over the top. I will be supporting the next manager like I always do. We don’t know whether King has got this right, but I sure hope he has. FWIW the appointment of Lampard would give me an injection of that hope, which is what football fans live on.
