I am also in the Robins in camp at the moment, that's not to say that he is getting everything right, but, and I think it has been called out by several posters already, we need to look back over the last couple of seasons
1. We had a very tight knit management team
2. We had a very much stronger midfield
3. We had several strong characters with leadership skills
4. We weren't afraid to use the loan market (although not all worked)
Now it seems most of that has gone, weaker midfield, lack of leadership, no loans because that doesn't fit Doug's thinking, too many blue tracksuit brigade, potentially pulling players this way and that
Things have to change in the January window, we need better in midfield and we need some wiser heads who can lead by example.
My only worry is that there are a lot of games between now and January and we have to play with what we have got, so with fingers crossed I hope we can just click and play as a team rather than a group of individuals, and January won't be too late to influence the season

We can't sack a manager after every bad spell it's a ridiculous idea , if fans can behave like this towards a bloke who gave us so much success then how bad would they be with somebody that's done fuck all here

I'm genuinely appalled at how shitty some of our fans have been recently

Agree do not want to end up like Stoke. 🙈

If I thought getting rid of Robins would bring about, and this is the key phrase, long term improvement, I'd be happy to do it now.

But I genuinely don't think it will. I don't agree with Shmmeee that 'the club is rotten to the core', but something has gone very wrong with the playing side as you have hilighted and I'm not sure a change of management will do it, (not sure keeping Robins will), but I really don't want us getting on the short term, big compo, managerial merry go round again.

I think the thing is at this point is that he’s tried so many different combinations of players, and has now even switched the formation yet none of it seems to have worked. I worry that he’s lost the confidence of the dressing room to turn this around and that’s pretty impossible to get past.
Why worry about guesswork? Had the players been turning up every week but the tactics were stiffling them, there may be something in that. Does anyone actually know our strongest 11 at the minute?

I think he's a good organiser, a good motivator, a good leader and he's been able to pull the club together and drag it through adversity, (up to now).

Which does suggest his best abilities are in clubs with poor structures and difficult owners

Poor tactics manifest as poor performances.

This binary view of tactics vs players performing is just nonsense.

IF Robins went we would have no one on the coaching and/or playing staff with experience and for me this may be the problem. We have a lot of potential but very little experience. The ratio of promise to experience is too lope sided. I suspect Mark has been let down with the lack of experience on coaching staff he literally couldn't take a day off as there is no one else experienced enough to take even temporary charge. I recall noises of wait and see who's coming when Adi went but it seems Adi, and Dennis's replacements are similar to Hamer's......

Not really had a tactical revolution though and it's served us well before
‘Play out from the back lads’
‘Sure boss, why are we doing it?’
‘Everyone else is’
‘Cool, how does it work then?’
‘Don’t you know how profound the tactic is when you examine the fucking words?’
‘Got it’
‘Great’

‘Hang on why are we doing triangles and crosses in our own box?’
‘You said play out from the back’

If we didn't play out from the back, we'd barely get a sniff of the ball at the minute. Other than when we're chasing the game and the oppostion are sitting back, we can't seem to maintain possession in the final third. There's nothing in the way of hold up play up top, and with no O'Hare/Palmer replacement, there's no one to drive through the middle

I’d be interested to know.. bearing in mind what any new manager would walk into & inherit- forget about specific names- what qualities are everyone looking for in the new guy?
The ability to not piss the clubs money up the wall on shit quality league 1 players would be a good start.

System based manager who wants to move the ball forward quickly rather than focus on retaining possession, potentially playing a higher line to squeeze the opposition.

Preferably good experience of first team management at a decent level. Although I wouldn’t be averse to recruiting someone who has worked in a large coaching team at a premier league club and is familiar with that kind of specialised setup.

The problem isn’t Robins. The problem is Doug King and his delusional ideas.
All he wants is players he can buy in young, and sell for a profit.
And at the minute more experienced football owners are having his pants down.
They must be laughing their bollocks off behind his back.
Or something other that masks other costs!

I don't want Robins gone. Not yet anyway. We need to turn it around, and go on a run, which hopefully started last night. Last season's run began with a uninspiring 0-0 against Stoke. I think we have defended fairly well in the last 2 games but have been wasteful in the forward areas.
If this form continues for another 2 games, I think he has to go.
All this talk of sacking the Head of Recruitment is lunacy. Haji Wright, Sakamoto, Torp, MVE.. Unknown before we signed them.
This is the best squad we've had since the Premier League days, but at the moment, almost to a man, they are all off form.
I still believe Robins will turn this around, but it has to be soon.

If I was given £45m to initiate a special project at work and it turned out to be a disaster then I would lose my job. Regardless of how well I’d previously worked
Not if you were given a bunch of people who were not up to standard to work with and your spend budget could .not complete the project to the required level

Right so he gets another formation change and only then can he be sacked 🤣
Where did I suggest that? The players are underperforming and low on confidence having not gotten results in two formations they're familiar with. I doubt so early in the season they'd turn on the guy that gave most of them the biggest games in their careers. Although maybe he has lost the dressing room, but as none of us actually know, there's no point worrying about it

I do agree with you that it really isn’t helpful or necessary. We don’t need a poll to sense how the forum feels about this.
How *some* on the forum feels about this.

I genuinely think if Doug hadn't interfered in the playing side and got greedy then we wouldn't be where we are in the table.

Leave the football side to football people and the business side to business people.

Exactly why I made a poll.

Silent majority and all that
Makes a mockery of what some have suggested is becoming some sort of Robins Out circle jerk. Quite the opposite i'd say.
I think if we stick with him he's taking us down, thought it for a few weeks now, he's been doing increasingly odd things and i cannot see him turning it around. No point in discussing it much further though. I guess wait until Luton pump us too.

Loads of the Robins in camp are regular attendees.
Really not sure where you get that from.
Yeah, weird take. "If you want Robins stay then you obviously DON'T go to games".

What did Doug do to the playing side?
