Has anyone actually said anything like this, that they’ll become stoke fans?

What will be interesting is if he wants to take anyone with him. On or off field. Might give us a chance to offload Binks? Dasilva? Or will he have the finances to take someone we’d like to keep.

On a serious note, hope he does well although obviously not vs us.

Stoke could be a good fit. They seem to have some resources but consistently mismanage them, maybe Mark can work his magic like he did here.

I don't hope he does well. I want every club in this league other than us to be as bad as possible.

Apologies if this has been mentioned already but do we get compensation? Remember reading somewhere when he was linked with another role that weirdly we would get compensation even though he was sacked.

Hope he gets the job and does well (except when they play us). Wonder who his number 2 will be? Stoke is a win, win for any Manager. Either you do well, or you get another pay off after half a season.

Your perspective seems a bit confused. While it's natural to want the team to finish as high as possible, logically not every other team can perform poorly - someone has to come second, third, and so on. Surely it's natural that some fans will be wishing success for Mark given his positive contributions during his time here, as long as it doesn't come at our expense. Supporting former managers who served the club well shows class and appreciation for their legacy, even if we've moved in a different direction.

It's not confused. I don't wish Stoke any success, they are meaningless to me and merely another club in the same division, if anything they are one of the rattier clubs. I hope that clears things up.

It only clears up that on this issue you have limited capacity for nuanced thinking. Wishing Robins well in his career as someone who gave the club so much when it was on its knees is very different to supporting Stoke who I agree are not a likeable club.

Hopefully still has Austin and the keeper coach’s numbers on his phone. I really hope there is no chanting of his name he has moved on and so should we, thanks for his time here but it had gone stale and he got longer than anybody else would have at the end.

He will absolutely get a chant during his return. Fans didn’t get to say goodbye so fully expect it when he comes here.

And on that note why not, regardless of how anyone feels this year he’s a club legend

No nuanced thinking is required. Robins' job is at Stoke, I don't wish him well in it.
If he was in a different league then crack on, hope he cleans up.

Give him a clap after then we will have a game to win and that’s all that matters we don’t want to give any excuses to this weak willed lot that he signed

I’m happy that MR is going to end up with another shot in the Championship, Stoke are a good club but I hope they are patient with MR, they’ve been less than patient since their relegation from the Premier League.

Obviously I hope MR does really well and keeps Stoke up this season, going forward they’ll look to challenge for the top six like every club in this league.

Looks like he’ll come back to the CBS with Stoke as well, which bothers me very little, won’t applaud him and won’t boo him, he’s another manager in the away dugout that I want us to take three points off.

I think its a good job for someone. He'd have to really stink the joint out to not last until the summer. Assuming that's not the case the owners will back the manager financially as much as any club outside of the parachute clubs.
