It's a shame we spent the money on Chaplin and not on a GK like Stockdale.
Stockdale would have saved us more goals that Chaplin has scored.

Are we able to sign the keeper on loan till end season ?
Can only extended loan if Burge and O.Brien remain injured, unfit.

Huge win. Another bogey team ended. Well done players and SBA. Smiling!!!
Yeah your right and it goes back to the 1920's, the city have never won at Rochdale until today.

That's a total of 10 games.

I like burge, but let's be honest there's 100 keepers out there that can fill the position. Hopefully today's an eye opener for him. If he wants to leave, good luck but stockdale is third choice championship so he might struggle for game time

I think Stockdale could get a championship club so I’m not looking forward to the obsessing over him till the end of August.

Think people might be getting a bit carried away about Stockdale. He's had one game and didn't have a great deal to do.

Fair enough he looked solid and didn't do anything wrong but some of the reaction seems a bit over the top.
Yes. Rochdale the worst team we've played this season. They hardly threatened at all

Mmm, people are just used to it going pear shaped when Burge is in between the sticks-maybe that has put Stockdale in a more positive light.

I thought we played pretty well today, first half I thought they edged, without creating much. We grew into the game after an hour or so, and controlled the game after we scored. We should really have won by 2 or 3, with better finishing and a bit of luck.

Robins picked a very attacking team, Baku, Hiwula, Bright, Thomas, Bayliss, then add in Sterling and Mason stretching them down the flanks, it was a team sent out to score goals and win. Stockdale’s experience showed, made one good save and commanded the box well. He is, however, only here for a very short period, and we will have Burge in goal for the rest of the season, so, with respect to Stockdale, rather than start a love affair with him, we’d be better to get behind the goalkeeper who will be be between our sticks for the rest of the season. I also thought that Shipley did very well when he came on, strengthened the midfield, and it’s good to see him getting some positive reviews on here.

I (like many other Cov fans) have had some bad experiences at Rochdale over the years, it was great to finally get a win after previous disappointments!

How much do you reckon was down to the keeper? Much more comfortable when we were leading

When they were firing those long balls and he was catching them or punching

Stockdale made a huge difference today, I still maintain that Burge is a decent keeper at our level. But Stockdales ability to pluck balls out of the air from crosses or corners that Burge would've been nowhere near and catching shots that would usually be spilled and then being able to get up quickly and accurately distribute the ball to one of our players on the halfway line certainly eased the usual nerves of the last 10 minutes or so of the game. If Stockdale had been between the sticks for the last 10 games or so we'd probably be in the top 6.

Hiwula’s finish looked great on tv. The commentator described it as a delightful lift over the keeper. Think we are so harsh

Not sure if anyone's commented on this or not but for all our possession football we finally get a win with a route one goal.

At the time I thought Hiwula hit the ball at the keeper and then it rebounded back off him into the net, so I thought he was quite fortunate. Not seen it subsequently, but either way, let's hope it gets him some confidence in front of goal, as he has evidently been lacking it recently.

Hiwulla pace is scary for opposition and ezciting for us fans. Keep him on left now for a long run of games and we will see even more from him
