Rudoni …? (1 Viewer)

I thought he played really well in the last two games. Give the lad a bit of time to get settled before we lampoon him every week. For me he’s getting better and there’s plenty more to improve on and I think he has the talent to reach a regular high standard of performance
Why do some people just sit there and slag new starters off, encourage him FGS

Seems to be a trend with EMC as well .
Some fans learned nothing from their embarrassing assessments of last season's signings after a few games

It's unbelievable - If there were fans in the ground that season imagine the stick Vik would have got from our fans, he probably wouldn't have wanted to come back

Wish people would back the lads we do have instead of banging on about the ones we don't - we will be alright✌️

In another life EMC could be sat on 5 goals for us already. And this isn't a dig at him, this is saying if those back post chances had fallen his way rather than just out of reach he'd be our top scorer and the hint of the negative narrative would be very different.

I've said it before, he's not the kind of player you want in a struggling side, which is what we are at the moment. I hope I'll be proved wrong but the recruitment of players on the evidence shown so far this season has been very poor. We have looked completely unbalanced despite the constant chopping and changing of the side.
There seems to be an alarming lack of grit and determination throughout the team, something that had previously been one of our strongest attributes.

He didn’t go missing. We made a very obvious change to get it forward quicker second half so that our non footballing centre halves didn’t have as much ball and we could pressurise theirs. That took him out of the game a bit.

Getting a bit bored of him going missing in the second half every single game.
Yup. He is far too inconsistent. Looks like a world beater one minute and then the next you don't even know he's on the pitch.

As it stands at the moment, he's just not good enough.

Might be an idea to have him on the bench and to then bring him on later on the game on order to have an effect.

At one point today, I did actually forget he was playing.

Such a shame, because he possesses all the skills to be an excellent footballer. But someone who only plays well every 4 or 5 games, is not that excellent at all

What about the other 9 games he’s gone missing then

Don’t think he’s a ten. Decent player but think he’s so high up, he often comes into defence to get on the ball where he can’t do much.

Wonder if we would be better playing the midfield in a back three as follows:

Sheaf
Eccles - Rudoni

No-about a 2 on todays performance.

He’s hardly ever looked a world beater. He’s talented enough but needs to step up massively and take accountability

First sentence is spot on.

The worry is, the same can be said about the vast majority of our squad. When things are going well, they play with confidence and freedom.

So far it’s been a meh with Rudoni’s performances. In pre-season he looked good and the signs were good for the start.

In the games so far he hasn’t impressed. What is his position? What’s his role? He looks lost in the 10 role.

Another one where we expected a bit more.
He’s more a number 8 for me. Trouble is we haven’t got a natural number 10. Recruitment has been poor this season.

He should’ve closed the cross down yesterday, criminal. Allowed him time in the area to get it back across for someone to head it in on the goal line.

He was utterly anonymous yesterday

Yup. Even though Eccles and Sheaf didn't have good games yesterday, you still noticed them and saw they were constantly involved in our play.

Hardly noticed Rudoni was even on the pitch

Some of our fans on social media have become so obsessed with hating O’Hare that they’ve convinced themselves that Rudoni has been much better than he actually has. In reality it’s looking like a downgrade at the moment and the fee paid is looking highly questionable. I think I saw a statistic when we signed him that in 5 seasons as a professional he’s never finished above either 18th or 19th in a league season.

O’Hare was a massive loss, people convinced themselves he wouldn’t be but that was stupid talk.

As for Rudoni’s fee, you can say that about all of them, not just him

And some are so obsessed with defending O’Hare they’re needlessly slagging off our own players. He was anonymous second half yesterday, first he was one of our better players. I don’t think he’s worth the fee but at his age and ability he’s one of the better signings that aside.

I think his natural position might be DM. He can use a ball and read the game. He's not great at tracking back so playing deeper would suit him.

Think teams have started marking him really closely, as he has been identified as danger man. Blackburn didn't and Sheffield Wed realised that after his goal. Another player with potential who needs to up his game.

Would like us to try something a bit different.

Torp
Sheaf Rudoni

I think Torp is much better suited to being further up the pitch and has that killer final ball we seem to be lacking constantly.

I just think structurally our midfield stinks at the moment. It’s too fluid - you’ve got 3 players basically trying to play as 8s. Tell someone to rein it in.
