Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations (10 Viewers)

From their point of view though if they can make 5 times the value why wouldn't they do it that way?

From our perspective it's dog shit. They will happily keep the club at arms length ticking over on it's own.
Isn't that what I just said in my last post? From there point it does make sense to sell the pieces individually. Because at the moment they don't have a football club to sell, it doesn't work.

That doesn't make the hofman bid shit, derisory or whatever. He's bidding on a broken product.

It does, because it's nowhere near the value of what he is bidding on. What he is bidding on isn't really broken is it?

I can understand not bidding the full amount and trying to get it for less but not shed loads lower and also ignoring the debt.

They have 6 times more to sell than what's been offered.

You are looking really stupid.

So you're valuing the club at £7.2M possibly rising to £72M then.? Have a word with yourself. Someone purchased Wolves for £30M last year with a ground, training ground and academy base, a championship squad, little debt and turning over a profit. How do you quantify your statement?

He's bidding for a football club but what he would be receiving is not a football club or at least not a working one. How is it not broken?

He's bidding for all of the good bits of a football club isn't he and not wanting the bad bits?

I'd say a CCFC with no debt at all running close to break even isn't that broken, I'd say it's a great base to build on. If he was going to try and take it on leaking millions a year with loads of players on long silly contracts for example and a long unaffordable lease etc it would be worse.

And what all the mess with the academy and stadium, probably the two most important things at a football club just goes away like that does it?

How's it silly then? As he will be getting Willis and other players / ryton too.
But if they sell Ryton, the club would have no where to train, no changing facilities, no gym facilities, and probably no medical facilities, it would be hard to imagine how the club could even pretend to be a professional football club
anymore.
Not sure we would get much for Willis, and there is no guarantee clubs would pay more than a million now for Stevenson, they may but I wouldn't bank on it. Clubs targets may have changed. We are now a fourth division club, with 4th division players, they generally don't attract huge fees.
Plus if season tickets sales are down by say 80%, again they may not, we just don't know, but then the club could be facing the prospect of it haemorrhaging money. Again all iffs and maybes, but then Hoffman's offer may look more generous than it does now. Particularly if the ground situation still remains deadlocked.

I think it would be pretty much like magic actually.
Really?

You think Wasps would bend over backwards to help the club with the academy and stadium, giving us exactly what we need to grow again and become strong again? Or you think the council will go out of there way to help the club build new high quality facilities within the city, how we would afford to build them I have no idea?

I'd imagine it would be resolved to a point and stop the fighting but fixed? Not a chance, any deal would be largely on wasps terms. The club are going to be feeling the effects of the last 4 years for the next 100.

No, there isn't going to be an amazing new CCFC stadium, custom training ground and academy etc but that's what Hoffman will be planning.

None of them will be bending over backwards but I think there will be some back scratching going on.

As I said above, if it was me I'd look to do what Pompey did with fan funding and set something up that can earn a bit of money and be community based too for a training facility. I have no idea what grants would / could be available for that sort of thing if SBITC were based there too.

So they won't magically go away then

We'd still be left it the mess Sisu have us in now, doesn't sound like a great base to build from.

And you think SISU will pay for something like that, but plus of course there would be the small matter, they would need some land to build it on. Fisher has apparently spent the last 4 years looking for land for our mystical new stadium, so I wouldn't put too much faith in us getting any new facility anytime soon.
Saw recently that Wasps hope shortly to start building their new facility at the Higgs Centre, and hope to move there by the end of the year. So shortly it seems we will be probably losing our Academy facility as well. Happy days.

I was talking from if there was a takeover rather than SISU are going to go an build a new one.

Ok so that is not fixing the problem.

The long term problems remain Sisu or no Sisu

Still broken

I wouldn't say it was broken.

It also depends on the deal Hoffman can get with Wasps, he wouldn't be so naive to sign up long term with no value for the club would he?

If there was no other option then probably yes.

You are sound oddly Italia like now who also thinks it will be great once we get in with wasps

I'm not saying it would be great.

I'm saying that is what he is likely to do.

I'd love a CCFC stadium and training complex with academy which is I think something they could still work towards. It wouldn't be a massive task to fund a training ground place, certainly do-able and then that could do the 365 revenues as well ;) That's where Elliott comes in handy with his hand shaking. That would just leave the stadium situation which can then be looked at.

If they are planning on taking over Ryton, no reason why they can't use that to actually sell off and build somewhere with that money toward it. If they tell SISU to keep Ryton to keep the prices down then get down to the Uni's and arse lick to get in there while something is financed and built that's our (CCFC's) own. Offer them work placements and experience for their students, tell them they can come and look after our academy and have free match tickets and tracksuits etc.

There's plenty that could probably be done with a bit of thought to help CCFC build up again.

Sorry I misread when you said it would be a great base to start from, it's now not great?

I agree that would be likely what he would do, it would also likely be a deal which makes it difficult to sustain even championship football.

No it's a great base because he has lots of options. The club is break even at the minute and no long contract the new owner is stuck into, and they go into any talks as not SISU.

Not saying it wouldn't be hard work and might take a bit of time to rebuild.

I'm also not saying I'd go to Wasps and let me shag me in the arse either with some silly long term deal and no revenue with no break clause. I don't personally want to be in a Wasps branded stadium forever, I'd also speak with Cov Rugby to see just what was discussed with them about the Butts and what was planned there. Options would always remain open ;) Plus, as he isn't SISU he would instantly have backing. If Hoffman owned us and Wasps were being dicks to us I think it would get a different reaction.

Again, that's based on what he's trying to buy. It's a different story if it was taking on shit loads of debt.

Breakeven as long as we sell a player for a few million every year right?

Again, he wouldn't be SISU and this is just going on what I would do and I am no expert on running a football club. He would ideally be working as hard as possible to get that breakeven figure higher year on year anyway.

He has the advantage he isn't Fisher, all he would need to do is go to a fans forum for example and basically explain the situation and make fans feel involved and grow things. Send elliott on missions for advertising and handshakes.

If somebody other than Fisher tried to run us at breakeven properly, it could work. It wouldn't be a promotion every year to the champions league but it would be a lot more secure for our future.

Nick

Ah it's a great base now because we have nothing to begin with, so it gives us...options

So it would be better for example with a 25 year agreement for a stadium that we can't afford? We would have a agreement then at least....

It's obviously not as good as if Wasps weren't here as it means the new owner could potentially buy the stadium then.

But again not a great base to work from is it. Breakeven as long as we sell players for a few million every year, not that I really have problem with that but it requires a steady stream of talent.

Good job theyve got the academy under control...

No probably not any better, I've accepted the damage done over the last 4 years is likely permanent long after Sisu. Our ceiling now is L1/ championship similar to Barnsley/Rotherham etc.

No, that's how it is at the minute.

The minute they took over there should be a massive charm offensive, I'd want to see Elliott in every business in the city shaking hands trying to flog advertising and sorting out corporate deals with them for tickets. Get into the Unis for a partnership, get in with Cov Rugby.

Get down the business parks and look for the big employers, places like Thompson at Westwood Park and even Camping and Caravanning etc. Send Sky Blue Sam in, give the staff a voucher for a fiver for a ticket and see if they want to sponsor a player or a match etc. Get 3 or 4 sky blue sam suits made and hammer the shit of the community. Businesses, schools, charity events etc. Who are wasps? ;)

the PR would be piss easy and it's what others have played on. "we aren't SISU".

Without somebody pumping in millions that they never want back I don't think we will be in the Premier League unless there is a huge stroke of luck.

I'd take that for a club I felt part of. Wouldn't you?
