"There was also criticism of the play of the 24-time national champions throughout the season. The tension in Eindhoven rose to boiling point in the week after the cup final, as was reported earlier this week via De Telegraaf. Six players allegedly went to the club management behind Van Nistelrooij's back to express their dissatisfaction.
The group of players is said to have had serious doubts about Van Nistelrooy's performance. There was also talk about Van Nistelrooy's troubled relationship with his assistants Ooijer and Rutten. This is said to have had a negative impact on the atmosphere within the team for a long time."
Sorry, is his own tweet claiming those achievements supposed to be evidence?

No to RVN...Like Lampard, he's a name, but the Dutch tend to be quite authoritarian in management, and he'll fall out with players.
Also he's coached at Man U and PSV, The Championship is a different beast. At least Lampard has had experience in this league before.
Still would prefer Carsley. There's a lot of talk of what a good coach he is, hence his England caretaker role. Lives locally, played for the club. If RVN or Lampard get us promoted, and keep us up, they'll be wanted men, and are more likely to jump ship.
If they can get us promoted and stay up I don't give a monkeys what they do nextNo to RVN...Like Lampard, he's a name, but the Dutch tend to be quite authoritarian in management, and he'll fall out with players.

To be fair if they get us up and keep us up, fair play happy for them to go at that point. No to RVN...Like Lampard, he's a name, but the Dutch tend to be quite authoritarian in management, and he'll fall out with players.

Wonder if we can add a huge release fee in his contract to make it profitable for us if he does go. Not just that, if we can attract this level of manager, we could do it againWould certainly be a statement signing if true, I do worry if he was to do a good job this year and we miss out on promotion he could be snapped up in the summer and we’re back to square 1
Start with his playing career. Arguably one of the best strikers of all time and played at the top, listening to people from the top and being around the top, in numerous countries. Now we all know this doesn't translate into good coaching/management but it always holds a good starting point. Got his stripes through the youth set up so not just launched into a managers job because of his name (Lampard), and then managed one of the best sides in Holland and also managed in the Champions League. Done enough there to be asked to help Holland at international tournaments so he has experience at that level there too. Finally, short stay at Man Utd being assistant, but good enough to be asked to be a caretaker after ETH left.Anyone want to summarise why people are excited about this one? Especially over the others named?
At this point I don’t know much about him management wise to know if I should be excited, but I assume the positive reaction so far is based on something?
Genuine questions, not being negative or pessimistic.
Good shout, his first job needs to be to get Sheaf to sign a new deal before the novelty of him being head coach wears offWonder if we can add a huge release fee in his contract to make it profitable for us if he does go. Not just that, if we can attract this level of manager, we could do it again

I think it's the just the fact that after the FA Cup semi-final, Man U owe us oneAnyone want to summarise why people are excited about this one? Especially over the others named?

Funny how people who are dismissive of somebody like Smith (promoted from the Championship having inherited a team underachieving) are keen on this appointment. What's the actual criteria?
And meI’d prefer him over Carsley or Lampard.
Yeah definitely over you!And me
Yeah me too - he would be good for usI’m amazed Moyes isn’t even in the bookies odds at all
Lampard would still be my preference as he’s more experienced, I reckon Ruud would jump ship at first opportunity if he got us playing….he’d get our strikers firing though
if true nice but that's not a source i'd trust that much
