For context, PSV’s cup run that season saw them beat a second division side in the QFs and a third division side in the semis. They beat Ajax in the final on penalties.
For context Cov beat a league one side, a relegation candidate championship side and a non league side in the run up to the QF. It's all relative and meaningless

Let’s be honest, all things considered, from a personal perspective - I’d prefer Van Nistelrooy over Lampard, at least.

Then we can finally say he came to Cov, 28 years after we were basically offered him for £250k, and Strachan said no.

Has the club confirmed who has actually applied?

Wouldn't of thought so, things like that would be kept confidential until it was a done deal.

Well if you want to run the Club Professionally that is.

Then someone saying "Looking at the calibre of coaches applying for the role, perhaps sacking Robins wasn't the crazy decision many of us thought it would've been?" is just shit-stirring.

Not sure who is best to replace Robins, but I feel if it is RVN, it could be similar to when Cardiff appointed Solskjaer, that didn’t end well. It’s a big gamble like Lampard would be.

How is it relative?

The strength of the opposition is absolutely relevant when it comes to assessing how much credit a manager should get for a cup run.

You were making the point that PSV beat weak opposition in their cup run and as such the implication was that it meant less. In that respect there are strong comparisons with Covs Cup run last season which was dissed by nobody on here.

I obviously thought the cup run was lovely but it was a pretty crap reason to keep Robins in a job.

Was it ever confirmed that he did actually trial at CCFC? Fairly sure Thierry Henry was rumoured to have done the same but it sounds like an urban myth
