Doesn't sound great for Beezy
Giles sounds exciting but this is the unfortunate biproduct of this move. Similar to Grimmer last year. Mason was arguably our best player in the first ten games or so.

I don’t buy this grimmer stuff. Sterling was good and dabo awesome.

Success is not emotion led but continuous improvement and always looking for better
Nothing but love for grimmer but he couldnt play passing game. I love that robons will sell ppl if can improve upon them

If we got to championship and he sold westbrooke or biamou for e.g i wouldnt complain

Just wish them well

tbf the Grimmer effort has paid off because we've got Dabo. I do get the point, though, that developing someone else's player ahead of your own can be one step forward and two back if you're not careful.

Except that if you get a good reputation for developing players, you probably get access to better quality loanees

Got to feel a bit sorry for Mason. Would get into pretty much any other league one side and through no fault of his own could end up 3rd choice here. Just shows the strength in depth we have this year.
Good chance he'll play tomorrow so a chance for Beezy to step up

He started off playing LWB for Shrews but did feature more on the left of the front 3 in a 3-4-3 formation as the season progressed.

We don't play that system so difficult to see where he'd play but LWB to be honest. Good option for one of the 2 behind the striker too perhaps?

I think Robins said he will look to use him as both a wingback and at the top of the box midfield. We will revert back to wingers at some stage this season I’m sure so this gives us a bit of versatility. Based on Shrewsbury fans and Ricketts’ comments, I think Giles will very much be an impact sub

Has something happened behind the scenes to explain why he’s seemingly out of favour?

I appreciate McCallum initially kept the shirt based on form (and maybe to put him in the window if you prefer a conspiracy!), but to sign someone new just as it appears he might get his chance again.....anything in it that, or just really unfortunate?

Do you think mason is likely to have more of about impact on the rest of the season than Giles? That’s what I like about robins he’s looking to improve his team even in small aspects all the time

What I like about Robins he’s not bothered one jot about playing someone he feels is better. If he thinks this Ryan Giles is better than let’s say McCallum he’ll put him in. That’s what has basically happened between Mason and McCallum.

Doesn’t every manager play their best team?..
