Where are we going to play all these forwards? That's 10 over 4 spots by my maths.

Alliyu TM said would be in the under 21's for a few weeks at least, Maddison out for 4 months and George Thomas not a likely starter this season I would say. Plus the fact that TM likes to play 3 forwards and forward thinking players, so therefore, makes sense.

Mowbray has also been eyeing pacy Newcastle United winger Alex Gilliead, who has been training at Ryton for the last fortnight.”
Wasn't this the same story with Fortune' I wonder how many other players are training at Ryton we don't know about.

Mowbray has said he wants to rotate the squad, so maybe Murphy plays 3 or 4 games in a row then sits out two games to get a breather.

B-but the players get angry if you do that on football manager!

Sign him but if this gives any kind of deal on Maddison, no way. We have been ripped off to many times by the richer teams.

maddison will go at some point. if its to a big club it should be for good money

lets just make sure we are in prem or championship when it happens! and getting kent in will obviously help

why is maddison now classed as out for 4-5 months? injury worse than expected or is mowbray factoring in time to get back to being match fit too?

This Liverpool lad coming is probably part of a transfer agreement for JM

Wouldn't be surprised if one or two of these loan players do become available for permanent signings in the future, can't see one being Armstrong but the likes of Murphy and Morris both on season long loans are around 19/20 and while their parent clubs remain in the premiership they will find it difficult to get regular first team football, it seems players have to be foriegn imports nowadays especially at Newcastle. Getting into the championship is the key and vital to be able to get better young players in.

well if it helps us get promotion then so be it

what maddison gave us was the ability to play through the middle even if defenders were right on his ass kicking athis heels, his first touch and quick turns opened defences up. this ryan kent looks like he can do same

if we get gillead too then JOB will be out of first 11 which i think despite how good he has been is what mowbray wants. murphy/kent/gillead could be a real handful behind armstrong. whislt we also would have lots of option from bench in JOB,lameieries, lateef etc. not just backuop it could be rotations too.

we need to get back to championship minimum, and fast

we have 1-3 years with maddison, lets make sure we aint in l1 when he goes

Murphy is definitely ear marked as a first team player for Norwich, his loan moves was also tied in with signing a contract extension with Norwich.

murphy and armstrong will never be perm signings for us unfortuntley

i just hope we get promoted THIS year so we can convince their parent clubs to loan them again next year as it will still serve as a step up for them both.

Agree this is our only hope. And if Maddison carries on his form and gets snapped up in the summer we might have a chance of making sure a season long loan.back is part of the deal.

Ah yes, the old two plus two equals five thing. Happens a lot on here, doesn't it?

Ok, so people think this lad coming in on loan is because we agree to sell JM, go figure? sorry but football managers on the whole are not so smart to think such a thing. I think it's some of you guys on here have far too much time to kill and of course

Looks like a perfect replacement for Maddison if we get him in. I know YouTube videos aren't the best to judge a player with but this guy does genuinely look like he has great first touch, lots of pace, good technical ability and good with both feet. Could be a decent signing for us.

Mowbray's signings so far have really been top notch and there is so much pace in the team now with the likes of Armstrong, Murphy, Lameiras and hopefully Kent too terrorising the opposition defence. Not to mention the other possible rumour of us signing the rapid Geordie lad Alex Gilliead as well...

Not his "fault", but he certainly has to take some of the responsibility, he coaches him everyday after all. You know, like when a manager get the sack because the team is playing poorly.

aint you the guy who said its oggys fault burge is crap?

whats that then? 2 plus 2 =76432?

Tony Mowbray is doing exactly what he said he would bring in top class young loans to supplement the first team, who knows where that leads to regarding getting them permanently or not but what it does do is give our own kids a few of which have signed new deals time, another year or so to make the step up. It also advertises to others perhaps next years loans this is the place to come to and Mowbray is the guy to play for and it gives us a creditable name with the prem managers looking to get their top progedies valuable and proper game time.

Sorry but you are talking tripe mate. Big Oggys coaching of goalkeepers stands up to anybody, Joe Murphy, Kieren Westwood, both internationals Chris Kirkland and go further back to Dean Kiely both credit Oggy for his help in their careers. All Oggy can do is coach who he has, Leigh Burge has become a first team goalkeeper whether he keeps that or not we will see and Reice Charles-Cook is knocking at the door, are you really saying it is part Oggy's responsibility if Burge or RCC fumble a ball. If you are that critical of Leigh Burge and his continuity in the first team the only guy to blame is Tony Mowbray for picking him !

Doesn't the manager listen to the goalkeeping coach's recommendation then? Mowbray picks the team, but surely Oggy has some input by telling the manager who the best keeper is at the club.

Yep, Mowbray's decision ultimately, but Oggy must have recommended Burge as his number one keeper.

Facts tell us that Burge hasn't been up to the job unfortunately.

Also, I know you have listed the good keepers we have had that Oggy has coached, but hasn't Oggy also been the coach to some pretty rank goal keepers we have had too?

You are talking fucking tripe too, read what you have put ffs. Pat big O on the back for Murphy, Westwood, Kirkland and Kiely, Hedman too, forgot about him, all internationals, kick his ass for any crap ones, you couldn't make it up. And you say facts tell us Leigh Burge isn't up to the job, what facts ? Facts actually suggest the opposite, have we won more or less games since he got the nod ? how many clean sheets ? and remember he was threw in at the deep end last season they are the facts mate. Do i think he is the answer to our goalkeeper position 50/50 for me, but that will be down to Leigh Burge and his ability not Steve Ogrizovic.

Id like to see these facts please?

It's your opinion that he hasn't been up to the job, not a fact.

The only fact I'm bothered about is that we're second in the league.
