Was it an altruistic move, I think not, it was just the only option open & a commercial sponsor would have been chosen in preference if anyone had offered.

I wouldn't say it was shameless money grabbing, it was the club trying to make money with nothing shameless about it.

As the football league have given them an award for promoting familys/children to come to games it shows gambling can be made family friendly.

Probably no more shameless than back in '87 when the club sold 1987/88 season tkts early with the guarantee of a cup final tkt when you purchased one.
It used to be known as a "results game", but as a couple of posters have already pointed out, it is very much a "money game". Especially when a windfall occurs, as in both those episodes.

I don't have a problem with the one off sponsor for the arsenal game. I'd even go as far as saying it displays good business sense to cash on the opportunity.

Thing is, it's consistent bad decision making (ie lack of business sense, where what's best for the club and not sisu's investors is concerned) that put us in such a ridiculous position where we had the option. We should have had a full time paying sponsor from day one of the season right until the last game of the season. The fact that nobody found us an attractive option isva failure.

And of course, wasn't actually the club's decision, but CBRE's.

It was shameless money grabbing, in that they didn't show any shame, and they were grabbing money. You could argue about whether shame was needed, of course.

Out of interest: do we know how much the club got from sponsorship this season compared to other seasons?

Its a shame why they couldn't find a space on the shirt to add Grace research fund logo. Surely it wouldn't have caused any problem with 12Bet if they did.
