And what are you trying to prove with that šŸ˜‚ we were 1-0 up after 91 mins, if assante could hit a barn door probably 2-0 I think the formation was working, canā€™t make it any simpler than that

I donā€™t want to be harsh or start rowing, so letā€™s just agree to profoundly disagree.

From the Telegraph apparently.
Robins to Stoke ?

must be true then!

Mark was on a fixed term contract until 2027 I believe, so if we (the club) decided to terminate early we would have had to pay him off - we canā€™t simply put him on garden leave and avoid thatā€¦ and certainly canā€™t sack a manager and then get paid compensation when they join another club, or else every club in the world would do the same šŸ˜‚

That heā€™d be playing striker with a fully fit squad. He only plays striker when we play two up front.
Itā€™s a new regime pal. Lampard will have his own ideas and seems to view him as a striker.

Again, EMC wasnā€™t in form the last time Haji played. Lampard will start both of them, so unless EMC is playing RW, Haji isnā€™t playing LW.

It has been reported in several places that we got compensation whenever he got a new job.

I mean I donā€™t have a Telegraph subscription so havenā€™t read the story but thatā€™s where it came from.

Granted, we made it a contest in the first half.

Second half we offered next to nothing as we conceded way too much possession, sat too deep and were unable to hold the ball up to relieve the pressure.

The thing thatā€™s most damning in that game was; despite being 0-1 up on 90 minutes, it really wasnā€™t a surprise they equalized.. or that they won it in time added on. It was a fucking shameful second half performance.

We have some tough games coming up. Lampard needs to win some games or the dissenting voices will get louder. King has made a huge call and needs to back his agenda for change up with money.

CM and old head pro CB needed ASAP

Yet, we shouldā€™ve went 2-0 upā€¦

I completely disagree that it was shameful. In fact, it was an archetypal away performance that has done us over a few times this season. They had 5 big chances and 3 of those were in the one goal mouth scramble caused by Allenā€™s mishap.

We mostly defended well, the equaliser was a peach and the second was a lucky finish despite Lati letting Sainz down the wing.

Itā€™s the games like this that really exposes just how behind we are in midfield. Norwich could beat our press, we couldnā€™t beat there's and thatā€™s the story of this season and last season.

When we had Hamer, we had a midfielder that could run the game, Eccles, Torp and Sheaf show glimpses here and there but donā€™t do against thereā€™s better teams in this division. Itā€™s getting boring bringing up Hamer every week but itā€™s obvious thatā€™s the single most important area we need to improve on.

Very true. And at the risk of inflaming the individuals who get very triggered by anyone saying as it is, it was as bad as anything thatā€™s come before. Apart from Portsmouth.

Really? The performance was identical to our playoff clash in Feb 2024. We actually had a best team out that too (bar Sheaf).

Strangely, the narrative is that we ā€˜batteredā€™ Norwich last year - no we didnā€™t!

They battered us 0-1. For 91 mins šŸ˜‚ come on mate, back 5 worked, it was the right decision, couldnā€™t have got Raphael into that team, and even if we did go 433 sakamoto was in front of him
Wouldn't waste your breath. All he does is copies whoever he thinks will like him most. He has no clue

ā€˜We shouldā€™ve gone 2-0 upā€™ is a tired and moot argument. We got pummeled in the second half and eventually caved because nothing was done to relieve the pressure. The game came to an inevitable end. It was shameful because we bottled it.

I will try and answer this without upsetting anybody

I think a team can only cope with being under so much pressure in a game and more often than not if we approach games like we did at Norwich other teams will take their chances and we will lose more often than not

To be clear Norwich didnā€™t even have a striker and scored twice in stoppage time. ā€˜It workedā€™ my arse
One was a worldly strike and the other a result of a foul on Latti at 90 mins I was feeling comfortable and wanting them to do some sh1thousery but we as usual too nice.
